Look at the teams he played at Louisville...U can't make that assumption when the dude coached in the Big East.

Didn't Meyer coach in the WAC? Doesn't Calipari coach against awful opponents?

So did your Hog friends get back to you about the 90's and Hog basketball?

Also...If you don't think scheduling matters, especially in the SEC, then I'm done with you...

Bert, if you did your homework you would have found out AR had a winning recorda against aTm.

That said homeowork would also note that other schools in the SWC had some great teams. SMU is one. Hell, even Houston had a couple good teams.

Don't try to equate the Ole SWC as being the equivalent of C-USA or one of the other mid-majors of today. It's not an accurate assessment.

Scheduling only matters to you guys when you want it to. LSU plays Florida every year. Hogs get SC. Didn't hear ya'll complaining in '06 when you claimed the West but lost to LSU. Swap the permanent opponents from the East and Hogs never have been in Atlanta.

Having FL on your schedule helps LSU more than it hurts, and yes I would trade with you.

Having that tough SEC schedule is what allowed a 2 loss LSU team go to the NC, and deservedly so.

I heard that Alabama, specifically Tuscaloosa, is a place you'd move if the Doctor gave you six months to live so it would seem loooonger.

Well, two years ago it was with a Rimington Award winner center in Jonathon Luigs, two-time Heisman runner-up Darren McFadden, and two-time 1st team All-American and two-time SEC All-Purpose yardage leader Felix Jones.

Last year though, yeah, they were in fact turds.

Yes Meyer did, but he has since proven himself...what has Petrino proved? Plus Meyer has a stable of recruits to pick and choose from the state of Florida...BIG difference between Florida and Arky.

Petrino has won a BCS bowl. I think that proves he is a good coach.

He's been in the SEC one year and brought a top 20 recruiting class in his first full season...geez. Lets see what 2009 brings

Read the whole thread dipshit...I said he hasn't proved anything until he wins in a real conference. The Big East is not a real conference...bottom line!

I understand your argument but I see it as flawed.

He did not win in the Big East and a BCS Bowl with SEC talent. He beat Big East teams with Big East talent.

He is widely considered to be one of footballs offensive masterminds and while he failed in the NFL, much like Saban, Spurrier, Holtz and others, he was hired as an NFL coach because he has shown himself to be a superior coach at the college level.

He won 5 games last year with the youngest team in the country (Florida St. and Arkansas both started 23 Freshman and True Freshman) and his first recruiting class was top 15.

You don't need to like Arkansas, or be a jackass, to acknowledge that Petrino is one of the premier coaches in the game.

Your right...I don't like Arkansas, but that doesn't mean anything. Petrino and R. Rodriguez are in the same boat to me...both good coaches in shitty conferences, who have to prove they can play with the big boys. Don't give me that BS about winning with Big East talent either.

Petrino is definitely one of the top coaches in the SEC. The man took Louisville, freaking Louisville, and made them national championship contenders. He is an offensive wizard and I think most people could see Arkansas steadily improve this year as the games went by. They won't be good next year, but in the future Arkansas will be pretty decent under Petrino if he stays there for it, and I think he will.

That's a big negative there buddy. You should just be really happy we will be ranked preseason. Should be at least. I do hope they play better next year cause it makes us look better when we beat them. Just kidding but I do hope Arkansas is back in it this year.
