Sorry, Bama was national champs by both major wire services, the AP and the UPI which voted after the regular season then.
I know people don’t like or want to count voting before bowls but that was the way it was done. Bowls were merely an exhibition and no more voting took place after the first week of December then.

Not really because we’ve actually won three titles in the last 20 years in football. Arkansas has only been relevant in football 3 times in the last twenty years. LSU has also won 6 baseball titles to Arky’s zero. Finally, despite the fact that Arky’s basketball program is far superior to LSU’s, they only have 2 more final 4s all time than we do and, believe it or not, we have advanced to the final 4 more recently than Arkansas has.
