Is I-30 between Little Rock and Texarkana completed?
TIA

And a follow-up question:
If you were to drive from Fayetteville to Texarkana, would take I-40 to Little Rock and then I-30 South to Texarkana or would you go straight south from Fayettvile to Texarkana using US-71?

Take US-71. Going the Little Rock way is all interstate but it will add a few hours to the trip.

Yea, take 71 instead. It is faster and much prettier and not too bad of a drive other than about 40 miles of it where you go through several small towns.

Take 71...One day that will be I-49
I-49 has a stretch done around Texarakana now and also I-49 connects at I-40 just outside of Ft Smith and runs to the Missouri border.
If coming here...take 71 north to I-49 in Ft Smith then head east on I-40 then take I-49 north into Gods country.

71 is a better route. Ever so often you might smell something funny if the westerly winds are blowing hard but don't be alarmed, that's just Oklahoma.

Thanks for the suggestion about taking US 71. Since I will be driving RV and late in the evening, midnight or so, would you still suggest US 71 over doing interstates through Little Rock? Again, thanks for the information you guys have provided, appreciate it

I don't think there's anything about 71 that would preclude you making the drive in an RV. It has some curves, but nothing like the old 71 between Alma and Fayetteville.

wmr.....thanks for the info. Now, can you do something about the hills (mountain I think?) around Fayetteville.....lol

RV's and campers are one of the most common vehicles to see going up and down 71. Enjoy the scenic drive through the Ouachita's starting in SW Arkansas and further north into the Ozarks.

thanks hogSS, heading south from just below KC and figure I will hit the Arkansas line using I-49 around 11pm Saturday night. Thought about going through Memphis to get to south LA. Guess I have about 30 hours to decide.....laughing

an alternative is taking I30 from Texarkana to Arkadelphia, then go north on Hwy 7 to Russellville, then jump on I40 heading to I49

If you are driving an RV do not heed this info! In a car its a scenic drive but a bit curvy in many areas.

No, its still a gravel 4 lane interstate

Take 71 and drive off a cliff

Yeah, hwy 7 is scenic, cut curvy and narrow. 71 is a bigger, better, much less curvy road.
71 has "climbing lanes" in areas that are particularly steep or cury. Hwy 7 doesn't have that type of stuff for the most part. 71 is a US Highway. 7 is a state highway.
