Arkansas, don’t turn that left fielder into Bill Buckner

The Red Sox relievers had a two run lead with two outs and no on on base. Yet, they had already blown the lead before the ground ball was hit to Buckner
Arkansas had a total team collapse last night in the 9th and no way that one kid should shoulder all the blame.

I've seen more discussion about the play at shortstop than anything.

Yeah, ESPN focused pretty hard on the force our at 3B

Having played shortstop, I'll admit that one bugged more more than anything as well. Turning two doesn't get much easier than that.
It was solidly hit, he barely had to move, and he fielded the ball squarely. You can't ask for more.

He must have been devastated because he didn’t even come out for the post game interviews although there was a placard and chair for him.

Yep. To me that one was the real killer. No doubt he’s turned a 6-4-3 a thousand times so no idea why he went to third. You don’t care about that run anyway and even if you miss the double play (he wouldn’t have) you still have 2 outs and a force at 2B.

Only thing I can think of is he thought it was bit more to his right than it actually was.

The SS needs to be in the crosshairs

I just noticed all the post game photos and videos were of the teammates comforting the left fielder. The reporters post game asked about the left fielder and not Aloy.

But the other two fielding issues would have still won the game, if they didn't make the turn

No doubt. 1B went way too far out of position and LF took first step back but just misjudged. I still don’t know what body part of his the ball hit to ounce so hard and fast into the corner. Just brutal

I’m sure that the thousands of Arkansas fans who have been conducting a nationwide manhunt for that player so they could kidnap him and murder his dog are now quietly heading home—comforted by the LSU fan’s noble call for reason to prevail.

That is rough for that kid. I will definitely be pulling for Arky if they get there again and we are out of it. That poor left fielder. Was almost a nice play.

He's worse than Buckner.
He looked like a circus performer being shot out of a cannon.
