The SEC originally didn't want Arkansas in the SEC until the Texas and Florida programs said no.

I don't consider Arkansas a rival. I'm sure a big reason is that the collapse of their program coincided with our joining the SEC, the games just haven't been that fun most years.
I view them more as almost a business competitor - if their program is doing well, we are competing for a lot of the same recruits, coaches, and eyeballs. So from that perspective, I guess I sort of mildly root against them.
But I also like Fayetteville and have family connections to the school. It is not and will never be like kansas. I would root for Satan himself against kansas football/basketball.
