They could hire NS and they would still struggle. I don’t know what is truly going on behind the scenes, but they have one of the smallest NILs, and they’re one of the more wealthy programs….believe it or not

Convince Bill Clinton to become A.D. and the millions would come flowing in.
We would dominate with all the money and with all the top athletes that would want to play for him. Might have to give them a quick history lesson is all to remind them who he is.

THIS is a myth that has led to the multi year continued slide of ARkansas and other teams.
AR should have thanked Pittman after the Liberty Bowl win in 2022, gave him his payout, maxed the NIL and hired a good coach.
Beating Texas, A&M, Penn State, LSU, giving AL a good fight all in 2021, then looking lost in 2022 was the sign
at that moment, Arkansas was relevant, ranked teams were actually worried about them.
The whole idea of holding a bad coach is terrible. it sinks a team.
When a team and fans start saying, "he sucks, but who can we get?" the downfall is in place. the longer they wait the further they fall.
ARkansas is down big now, but AR has not seen the fall they are about to incur if they hold on to HY and Silverfield for multiple years.

Maybe the administration would have had a clue as to what would follow, but certainly not the average fan.
2021 had been our best season in a decade and although our record was 7-6 in 2022, we had lost four of those games by a COMBINED 9 points.
So two years in a row of back to back bowl wins and being very competitive with almost everybody.
No one that I know of was thinking about needing a replacement for Pittman.
Took another year to see it.

One of the younger Waltons offered Arkansas $25 million towards NIL. They said no.
Arkansas had a chancellor vacancy four years ago.
The Waltons wanted a chancellor with a background in stem/computer science. They wanted the individual from Utah.
Arkansas picked the current chancellor that has no background in that area.
Pretty much they said no to the Waltons.
They no longer donate to Arkansas including academics and sports.
This doesn't include the retarded AD that has angered fans from the rich to the poor.
As long as Hunter is the AD, no one will donate.

Spending 75 percent of his time raising funds.

I verified what you are talking about in relation to the chancellor disagreement that soured the Walton family (specifically Alice) on their financial arrangements with the school,
but,
who else is repeating that quote above about the athletic department turning down $25M besides you.
A.I. says that's not true. So, at best it's unverifiable in the public record.

Liberty, again, AR should have won, but SAM lost it, terrible coaching decisions. everyone was screaming at him, people were bumfuzzled at his calls
Missouri, again, AR was clearly the team, but SAM lost it again with his inablitly to coach.
In the Liberty Bowl, Sam tried to lose, but the team pulled it out. He had nothing to do with that win. his calls and game plan was baffling.
In 2022, there were 4 games Sam totally lost, when AR was the team to beat. His second half game has no explication. In close games, Sam always comes out second half like he is protecting a lead for 30 min. He never played to win in those close games. People were astounded at Sam's refusal to put a game away or play for a win in close games.
2022 was the season that showed the future, Sam was only going to sink further down hill. His awshucks shtick was old, people were tired of it.

Fans thought he was doing well in most aspects other than on the sidelines and chocked that up to learning on the job and that if he could improve in that aspect, that we would get back to where we use to be, above average.
I thought the recruiting would be better being that he was such a good recruiter as an OL coach. That was surprising and it was probably that he maybe wasn't as good at hiring coaches that could help him recruit, but I would have thought he personally could have given us 4-5 star Olines like he did at Georgia and even Arkansas the first time.
It was reasonable to assume that for the casual fan.
