I'm excited to see Alonzo Highsmith play.

I don't know... Smith hasn't been playing bad from what I've seen, it's just Farr is outplaying him right now.

et again, the suprise to me is that Farr beat out Darrell Smith. I really was hoping to see Darrell step it up and start pushing for meaningful playihng time if he is going to be our safety of the future. Is the injury still bothering him or what?
Smith is working out of the doghouse and Farr has had an unbelievable camp.

If I had to bet Ford will be the starter but Bennett will replace him on passing situations.
Ford is more physical and supports the run better, Bennett has alot more speed/quickness and better coverage skills.
Plus Bennett probably needs some more time and experience adjusting to the safety position.

Makes sense...
I think I figured out why Petrino has Uekman at 2nd string FB instead of Linton. Uekman is 6'4", Linton is 5'11", and they weigh about the same and are about the same speed. Petrino loves lengthy players, so it makes sense he would prefer Uekman here.

I'm nervous about Small at FB.

Nah, CBP was raving about Small's ability at FB. I think he'll do well.

He's no Stumon, but the coaching staff has really been talking him up. He'll be sufficient at least, and consistent contributor on offense at best.

They were #7 in the SEC last year in the defensive category that matters.
So? Against teams not named Auburn, Arkansas only gave up 19.92 points per game a year ago.

LOL @ them jumping up to #3.
Very possible, as shown to how the Arkansas defense performed against everyone not named Auburn a year ago.

They just dont have the defensive depth that it takes to have a to D in this conference.
Do you not have a clue about the Arkansas defensive depth chart?

RB 20 Ronnie Wingo Jr. (Jr., 6-3, 231)
23 De’Anthony Curtis (Sr., 5-9, 211)
33 Dennis Johnson (Jr., 5-9, 213)
Should I be worried about this?

No.
DA has looked good. RB is his natural position. I think Hog fans will be happy with what they see out of Curtis at the start of the season. DJ also is not 100% right now.

Really hate that AU missed on this guy.

He good. We have gotten quite a few nice Dlinemen the last couple of years.

quote:Color me cynical but I'm gonna have to see Curtis and even Wingo do something on the field before my worries are alleviated. We've seen those two and Johnson play plenty and DJ was the only of the three who has ever looked like a solid SEC running back. I will be very concerned if he doesn't come back 100 percent. Every bit of evidence says that he is the best available running back on our roster. There is a reason Deanthony Curtis is a 4th year player and has never been a factor.

I thought Gragg was the best thing since sliced bread?
