What suspension can LSU enforce at another school?

That's part of the transfer rule in the NCAA.

quote:

14.5.5.1 General Rule. A transfer student from a four-year institution shall not be eligible for intercollegiate competition until the student has fulfilled an academic year of residence (see Bylaw 14.02.10) at the certifying institution unless the student qualifies for one of the transfer exceptions set forth in Bylaws 14.5.5.1.1, 14.5.5.1.2 or 14.5.5.1.3. A transfer student (other than one under disciplinary suspension per Bylaw 14.5.1.2) may qualify for an exception to the academic year of residence requirement provided they do not have an unfulfilled residence requirement at the institution from which they are transferring. (See Bylaw 14.1.12, for student-athletes participating in a recognized foreign exchange/study abroad program). (Revised: 1/10/91 effective 8/1/91, 5/7/10, 1/19/13, 4/20/21)

I’ve never seen an episode like this kid. It should workout for him just because he’s talented, but he needs to get his shite together with a quickness.

UGA fans want LSU fans to be a lot more upset than they really are.

This is the 2nd time this offseason Gilbert has transferred. I think most are over the saga.

I was over it last season before he "transferred to Florida." I wish the kid well, but I've been over dealing with his bullshite. When a freshman randomly quits in the middle of the season, saying he was tired, (ignoring the reality that he was academically inelgibile), then needs momma and the coaches to coddle him for months while he figures himself out, yeah I'm over it.

that's what people have rumored. I don't think any of us know definitively, but that's one issue, among other issues, that has been speculated as being a hurdle for him being able to play elsewhere next season.

I wasn’t aware LSU as an institution had suspended Gilbert…

quote:

14.5.1.2 Disciplinary Suspension. He can be suspended by the team and it not matter; rule only applies to a suspension by the institution

I didn't say he was either. One poster alluded to this being the case and another poster questionbed how a suspension at one school can be applied at another. I provided how

Dayne Young of Rivals just confirmed that Gilbert has been ruled as eligible for Fall.

The surprise is Derion Kendrick from Clemson actually has to make up some academic ground to play this Fall.

That's probably the best thing for him. I wish the young man luck and hope he gets his act together. He can be one of the best to play the position.

I’m just clarifying that it would’ve had to be a suspension from LSU as a school for non academic reasons, not just a suspension from football.

Glad LSU is finally done with this distraction. Before you say I’m mad look at my post history regarding this kid. I didn’t want him back at LSU months ago and I don’t now.

One really good thing about this is that Gilbert will already be experienced in losing to Bama.
