Yeah because we've never seen a team up towards the top of the initial playoff rankings tank.
I'm getting 2022 Tennessee / 2014 Mississippi State, Auburn, and Ole Miss vibes right about now.

If Texas can somehow find a way to beat Georgia that would set up the biggest game in the history of Texas-Texas A&M.
11-0 A&M at 9-2 Texas with a trip to the SECCG on the line (again) would be crazy.

A&M hasn’t beaten a single team that has a winning conference record and won’t this weekend either.

Arkansas. And frankly I don’t think they can win any of those games
You don't think Texas can beat a team that lost at home to Auburn and Mississippi State, along with Notre Dame by 40?
You seem rational and not all blinded by rivalry.

Okay. I think ND would like a word. Okay, I guess they aren’t in a conference but they are a very good team. And they put 42 points on them. In South Bend. On the road.
But yeah, they ain’t beaten anyone. Except that. That’s also the reason they will be number 2.
So suck it.

I think Green will score 40 points and I don’t think Texas can stop Green. Green is a very good QB. Arkansas has a very good offense. So it will be a score fest. I actually don’t trust Arch to score more than 30.

At this point it doesn't really matter. They're ranking them for playoff TV ratings, not by who's actually better.

Not sure that matters too much…
Texas had to go to overtime against 1-5 Kentucky and 1-4 Mississippi State. You also lost to 2-3 Florida.
The only SEC team you’ve played/beaten with a winning record is OU and after next weekend, they won’t have a winning record either.

I know y’all had a bye last weekend, did you not pay attention to any other games that were played?

You’re correct. I missed them.
SEC is pretty competitive top to bottom…at least top 3/4. Seems like any team can beat another on any given Saturday.

Point still stands. The bottom of the conference has given y’all trouble this year. It seems weird to mock sub .500 SEC teams.

State was #1 once.

I did notice how Texas sealed their victory against the mighty Commodores by watching an onside kick dribble out of bounds just inches away from Vandy recovering it.
That was an impressive CFP playoff caliber performance. You should be proud.

pretty big statement you made there hoss
If the ‘sips and the Ags both win-out pre-Thanksgiving, the Aggies will be either number two or number three, and Texas will probably have clawed its way into the top 10.
There have been a couple of times when both teams were ranked for the game (including both 1999 and 2000, which they split), but I have not been able to able to find any top 10 match-up.
It would be epic.
