It's one of the few things we downgraded when moving to the SEC, but overall its the best we could ask for.

Easy to see why A&M is against the current matchup.

Your win % was certainly downgraded.

We have a much better win% vs Lsu than tu.

You don’t have a in state rival that goes back over a century. You couldn’t understand what we had. Bama/Auburn, Ms St/Ole Miss, Clemson/UofSC, Oklahoma/Oklahoma St, there is just so much passion in these games regardless of record.

Nope, not when looking at just the rivalry period (last game of the season as OP stated). LSU is 7-1 against A&M in that rivalry game.

You could be 8-0 or 0-8 it still wouldn’t matter.

We were talking win %, so it does matter.

Fine fine fine it’s still a downgrade regardless of it. Sorry Lsu has never got to experience this fine tradition in college football. You truly are missing out.

Now that FSU is starting to recover from the Jimbo Demolition, our rival game will get better.

Yeah, the Arky one felt forced. Tulane wasn’t goid. We haven’t had that hate-filled end of year rival like others have.

We lose to a Big12 team as our last game, so not really sure how to answer the OP

I can see why an Arkansas fan would want to keep LSU as your end of season game. You were 3-3 vs LSU in the 6 games before we took over...and 1-5 since the new kids moved in.

The Missouri 'rival' is by far the worst in the league. To add salt to the wound Arkansas has been the worst Hogs team in the history of the school the last couple years so we have lost them.
Win or lose, nobody in Arkansas is excited about playing Missouri as our rival. We had something great building with LSU and the league fricked us.

I'm not a fan of the LSU v A&M thing. But the Arkansas "rivalry" felt forced, so I guess A&M's our best option.

I liked playing Arkansas alot more than A&M. Although I'd be down for an in state series between LaTech or UL.

You will go back to playing LSU as soon as the bleeding vaginas who are stopping the UT vs A&M and Kansas vs Mizzou games grow a pair.

Yes, the Iron Bowl is great.
That said, I'm likely very much in the minority, but I'd like to see schedules re-worked for an opening weekend rivalry game kickoff.
Aside from being an awesome way to build up to and start the season, it reduces injuries from affecting the game (although fall camp has been a triage center the last couple of years); allows rivals to focus a lot more energy to the game through fall camp, adding to quality of game; let's top rivals be able to overcome a loss somewhat better; and mitigates going into SEC CG more emotionally and/or physically drained than after a normal game.
There are some detractors obviously. Game would be hot as hell if not a night game; Fall, cold/cool weather football feels like real football. Teams would not be in peak form, especially those with more complex offenses that take some time to gel and develop. That said, I wouldnt mind it.
Great way to spend a labor day weekend.
If we can't work it out for the primary rival, maybe the #2 or #3 rival (in or out of conference).
I'm 41, so in my lifetime, Bama has had three really good regular season games on rivalry levels. Iron Bowl being the most heated (21-20 Bama). Although TSIO has been one sided as of late, it still has been a good one over 4 decades (25-14-2 Bama). LSU and Bama have been as great (even better) in my lifetime as well (24-16-1 Bama). In Bama's 1979 NC year, Bama got out of BR with a 3-0 win as their biggest test of the year (seems familiar), and neither team has been very safe in home games since. Would love playing any of these three games on opening weekend annually.
Opening with a Tiger team, UT midseason, and closing with a Tiger team for UA would also be an acceptable change up for my own fan experience.
