Do you really think the SEC/Big Ten would waste a spot on them when those two conferences control all the cards? No. The playoffs will be exclusively an SEC/Big Ten invitational. They aren’t sharing money with other conferences.
If GA Tech doesn’t get into the Big Ten, it will be devastating for their program. They will be reduced to the level of Georgia State, Georgia Southern, and Kennesaw St. The same thing will happen to the programs in the Big 12 that don’t make the SEC or Big Ten.

Won’t happen. Big 10 would like this fo some reason but it makes no real sense…

Did you ever think Oklahoma would be in the SEC? I sure as hell didn’t. It’s all about money.

lol. No. The winner of the SEC will play the winner of the Big 10 for the College football Super Bowl. No other conferences will have access to the game.
With 48 teams, schedules done by the league, salaries set by the league, NIL owned by the league. All arbitration done by the league. The student aspect overseen by the league.
2 divisions SEC and Big 10
4 subdivisions south east, south west, North, West or conferences if you prefer
12 teams to a subdivision or conference

The SEC could add
UNC, Duke, Vtech, FSU, Miami, Louisville..but not sure but those seem like obvious choices to start with

I would want GA Tech way before Duke, Miami or Louisville

If they do, the other leagues should freeze the SEC/BIG out of March Madness and all other championships.

Hahahahahahahahahah. So the Big 12 and whatever is left of the ACC is going to freeze out Kentucky, UNC (when they join the SEC), Kansas (when they join either), Florida, Ohio St. and several other traditional basketball powers? Dude, the SEC and Big will have all of the relevant programs in both football and basketball.

Gonzaga? Marquette? Louisville? Villanova? Uconn? Cincy? St. Johns? Xavier?

You think anyone would watch a tournament with just those teams? Who do you think fans are more interested to watch: Kentucky, Florida, UNC, Ohio St., or Marquette?

You are completely missing the point.

No, you are. Who holds all the cards? The programs in the SEC/Big. If they had their own tournament it would receive much higher ratings than any tournament with Marquette. The NCAA tournament would become the equivalent of the NIT. Nobody would care about it anymore.

What happens when Disney/ESPN goes bankrupt and can't pay the contracts?
What happens when ratings drop dramatically when all of the people whose schools are now excluded don't watch?

What does that have to do with your original statement? Then the SEC would find a new network to partner with I guess?

I think the top forty(? ) spots should be earned. And there should be some mechanism for upward mobility.
There are alot of Aggies who think the powers that be at A&M feel no urgency to win it all(forgetting for a moment Jimbo's buyout).
At 8-4 we are at or very near tops in attendance. They are making money with an 8-4 product. Why change?
I don't know what all the metrics should be for advancement, but they need to keep the fire under the athletic departments. Otherwise some teams will be content with coasting
