At the risk of having my manhood questioned, I’ll step up in defense of this tradition. They’ve been doing this since Moby Dick was a minnow and back in the day when the word gay meant happy.
I am not aware of a period in the history of western civilization where it was normal for young men to perform dance routines which were not meant to be ironic or a parody of some sort and certainly not in public and on a regular and consistent basis with NO females involved at all. I am certain it happened on ships at sea and in prisons but Aggies were more or less free to wonder off from College Station, sailors and prisoners not so much.
I am of the opinion that it is their school and their tradition...if they want to be strange as a 3 dollar bill they are adults, it ain't nobodies business. That said they also should realize that such behavior is not going to go unnoticed and uncommented upon by supporters of normal schools....

Aggie fans I know love them, getting to be one has higher clout than being a player in some Gig 'Em circles...

The corps of cadets are ROTC. I looked it up awhile back. 49% of them join the military as officers after graduation. That's a pretty big percentage.
The other 51% are still queers
