Then why are you talking about high school recruit rankings?

Yeah because Clemson doesn't have any NFL talent.

Perhaps you are right. Maybe LSU did a better job landing future NFL talent in their 2009 and 2010 classes. In a couple years we can review the full numbers.
But what have the more talented tigers classes of 2009 and 2010 accomplished? This would seem to seriously implicate your entire coaching staff and organization.
Also, for perspective Scout ranked the 2009/10 LSU classes #3 and #7 and Bama #2 and #4, with very similar star averages.

Or does LSU prepare their players for the NFL better? Bama's 2009 and 2010 classes were both ranked higher than LSU yet LSU has more NFL ready players from these classes. Which is it...overrated or poorly developed? Don't waste your time talking about championships, this is about NFL preparation.

Lol Bama lost players from the 09 class last year in Richardson and Kirkpatrick. Some will leave this year like Fluker and Lacy. Others will come back to win a 4th title like McCarron.
Bamas 2010 class was Sabans weakest though. Only Millner and Mosley were really elite in that class.

Why is his thread still going after the OP's argument was destroyed by he quote above?

Tide Roll With Losses
Beginning with the 2009 NFL draft, which immediately preceded the first national title run for Alabama under Nick Saban, the program has seen 11 players selected in the first round, almost twice as many as any other school during that span. Here's a look:
School - 1st Rd. picks - Top 10
Alabama 11 6
USC 6 3
Missouri 5 2
Baylor 5 2
Okla. St. 5 2
Florida 5 1

ALABAMA CRIMSON TIDE NFL Draft picks the last five years: 24
Under the direction of head coach Nick Saban, Alabama has turned into a virtual factory of NFL prospects. This was never more evident than last April when for the second consecutive year the national champs led all universities with four players selected in the first round of the NFL draft.
What has made Saban's transformation of the Alabama program so impressive is that it wasn't too long ago when the Crimson Tide were struggling. While the team has averaged nearly seven players annually drafted into the NFL in 2010-12, in 2008 zero Alabama players were deemed good enough by NFL scouts to be selected. LINK

2012 NFL Draft Snapshot
Alabama produced 8 draft picks, the most of any college, including four first rounders: running back Trent Richardson (Browns), safety Mark Barron (Buccaneers), cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick (Bengals) and linebacker Dont'a Hightower (Patriots). Also selected from the Crimonson Tide were linebacker Courtney Upshaw (Ravens), defensive tackle Josh Chapman (Colts), defensive back DeQuan Menzie (Chiefs) and tight end Brad Smelley (Browns). LINK

April 28, 2011 NEW YORK - The University of Alabama had a school-record four players selected in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft at Radio City Music Hall on Thursday evening.
Junior Marcell Dareus was taken by the Buffalo Bills with the No. 3 overall pick while junior wide receiver Julio Jones went three selections later to the Atlanta Falcons at No. 6. Senior offensive lineman James Carpenter was a pleasant surprise in the first round for the Crimson Tide, going No. 25 overall to the Seattle Seahawks. Junior running back Mark Ingram then capped an illustrious Alabama career when he was selected with the 28th overall pick of the first round by the New Orleans Saints.
The four first-round selections was a school record for Alabama, breaking the mark of three set in 1993 LINK

The way I see it, all the Star ratings are BS, and are often wrong. You never know what 2 or 3 star kid will come in and turn into a stud.
I see too many teams that recruit trash HS kids and have great football teams.
That is not to say that some of the kids at the top of HS are not worth rankings. Some just stand out no matter what and will have a very high probability of succeeding at the next level.

aren't recruiting rankings a guage as to how high school football players will do on the college level?
