Not unexpected. I'm excited to see how he does running a program. He was never a real in front of the cameras kind of guy at LSU.

Technically speaking, LSU's defensive rankings have fallen off since Chief left - it's just stats.

At least he isn't going to an SEC school

Good luck to him! I doubt many LSU fans would have guessed he would have stayed the length of time he did.

Wheels are falling off for LSU. They might go 7-5

You could hire Chavis. He's right down the road

Aranda needed to cash in, stock had been dropping

Maybe in the beginning part of the season, but his D held the three top 6 scoring offenses LSU played in the last part of the season (Bama, Oklahoma and Clemson) to at least two TDs under their scoring average (they held Clemson to 19 points under their scoring average). So I'm guessing his stock went back up.

My guess would actually be 9-3. They will be talented, but very inexperienced. Also, their coaching staff isn't done being gutted. Aranda will take a few with him

Chizik couldn’t take LSU below 8-4. Too many dude players on that roster. Waco is a good spot for Aranda to get started HC’ing. Expectations are not unreal. Getting high end talent to go to Waco has always been a problem though.

Have you been watching college football for the last five years?.... offensively efficiency has exploded across the board.
