Ok let's assume the tapes are 100 percent legit. They do not prove Auburn paid money, so the records stand
they can prove that they offered though
How so?
well duh, obviously the tapes have a conference call from Auburn saying that we offered the money. Thats the simple part about it. The only reason this hasn't come out is it is still difficult to tell if Cam knew what was going on.

Yes, you did. Except the part about the federal investigation into Colonial bank and it's chairman Bobby Lowder.

LOL Miss. St. stopped recruiting Newton huh? Right.
As did UT. State knew Cecil had made this situation too big and that it would become public eventually. There was no way State could sign Newton. It would be the equivalent of program suicide.

If the NCAA feels Auburn should have known, they could be busted. Chiz coming out defending Cecil and within the week, Cecil admitting he shopped his son is looking a little more damaging to the investigation Auburn conducted themselves. It gives the appearance they did nothing and wanted people to believe what they said, and not actually look into their actions of what they actually did to investigate what Miss St turned in.
I actually agree with "if the NCAA feels Auburn should have known".. but guess what, the NCAA did not know, the SEC did not know.. How was Auburn to know what happened at another SEC school? Auburn made their decision based on what was known at the time... It is the old what did you know and when did you know it. Finding out information today, will not impact that.

Good Lord, I wish this crap would hurry up and be done. Whatever happens, happens - whoever screwed up should be punished and let's get on with our lives.

State NEVER stopped recruiting him and only turned over information to the SEC AFTER he signed with Auburn... If he had signed with MSU, you would have heard nothing...

Things can't get much worse for them, might as well gamble a little.

Haven't some Au fans like yourself, been saying, this is a year old, they've known about it since Miss St turned it over to the SEC office before last summer? That's when the SEC and Au should have known.

One more quote from Moore in summary:
“(Newton) went to Mississippi State and said, ‘Hey, what can you guys do for us?’ I mean that’s a fact. That’s what he did. And you know Mississippi State came back and said, ‘Listen, we’re not gonna do anything for you, but if you go to Auburn, we’re gonna turn you in.’ And that’s what happened.”

they've known about the report, and all the information known by not only AU, but also the SEC and NCAA showed that Cam didn't know.

The only part of the statement I highlighted that was true was the part about the investigation of Colonial. The rest of it was just bullshite.

Chiz said Cecil was good people and 4 days later got made a fool of. Evidence can change things, and that's probably why the investigation is still open and why so many radio hosts are coming forward stating they've heard the tapes now.

Wrong. Newton could not sign with State because he had no offer about a week before signing with Auburn. Once State found out about the booster involvement it would have been a major NCAA violation to accept a commitment from Cam. And yes, they turned in the info to the NCAA after Cam signed with Auburn because they wanted the NCAA to bust Auburn's arse if Newton got paid. To say Mullen and the other State coaches were pissed about the way Cecil lied to them and manipulated them would be a huge understatement.

Auburn followed the appropriate process... Remember this from the NCAA:
The NCAA's statement said:
"Auburn University football student-athlete Cam Newton is immediately eligible to compete, according to a decision today by the NCAA student-athlete reinstatement staff. The NCAA concluded on Monday that a violation of amateurism rules occurred, therefore Auburn University declared the student-athlete ineligible yesterday for violations of NCAA amateurism rules."
There are no penalties against Auburn or Newton, and no wins are in jeopardy.
"We are pleased that the NCAA has agreed with our position that Cam Newton has been and continues to be eligible to play football at Auburn University," said Auburn Athletics Director Jay Jacobs. "We appreciate the diligence and professionalism of the NCAA and its handling of this matter."
The NCAA said, "We do not have sufficient evidence that Cam Newton or anyone from Auburn was aware" of improper activity involving Newton's father."
SO, IF the NCAA feels like Auburn knew, then yes you might be correct..
According to facts of the case agreed upon by Auburn University and the NCAA enforcement staff, the student-athlete's father and an owner of a scouting service worked together to actively market the student-athlete as a part of a pay-for-play scenario in return for Newton's commitment to attend college and play football. NCAA rules (Bylaw 12.3.3) do not allow individuals or entities to represent a prospective student-athlete for compensation to a school for an athletic scholarship.
How do the tapes change this??? They do not, Auburn believes that Cecil solicited money at MSU...

Auburn knew they were taking a gamble and signing a shady arse player.
Auburn knew before the firt game that there were questions regarding the recruitment of that shady arse player.
Auburn knew that the shady arse father of that shady arse player whored out his son.
Auburn chose to play his arse anyway.

Radio hosts can come foward and say whatever they want, but still, if the tapes were legit, why don't the NCAA or FBI know about them? If they do know about them, that would mean the tapes are evidence in an apparently on-going investigation, and it would be against the law to share the tapes with anyone, especially radio hosts.
Maybe they are real, I don't know, but as of now, none of the points add up.

God this is not that complicated. The tapes allegedly prove that Cam knew his father was shopping him. That little piece of info changes EVERYTHING.
