Water cooler stuff. I've always thought the first real poll shouldn't come out until early October when everyone has played at least four or five games.

Bama reaching No. 1 in the AP poll for a 15th straight season under Saban.

The next-longest streak for any program is 7 seasons and for any coach is 6.

It's weird seeing UK ranked and LSU and UF not.

LSU plays better as preseason underdog anyway; 2018 and 2010 come to mine

Florida State didn't even get a single vote and LSU received 55. My how the mighty have fallen. Not even worth watching.

This is probably just a typo but, in case it isn't, the phrase is "come to mind."

How is Tennessee ranked the first team in the "Others receiving votes" category?? They will be lucky to finish over .500 this year and are probably looking at 4th-5th in the East. Florida and LSU should definitely be ranked higher.

Seems like AP also likes the under on 6.5 wins

Tennessee getting more votes than LSU is SAD.
Truly SAD!

Am I missing something about Miami? Where is all this love coming from? They went 7-5 in the awful ACC last year.

You just said it, "the awful ACC." Anyone with a pulse can rise up and be heard from. I think the game vs TAMU will set the tone for what Miami has for the rest of the football world.

And no Auburn either - very strange times in the SEC.
