Glad State is not ranked. Just let us enjoy the 4-0 start. If we win against Tennessee, then yes, we would deserve to be ranked.
Not sure how that game will go. But for now I am just enjoying the fact that after two years of misery, we are relevant again.

And if you win you can be moved back in. However, the data is. You hit houses by FSU and beat a Wisconsin team that got smoked by Maryland, it OSU, not Oregon; Maryland. Basically the same outcome. If you weren’t Alabama you would be out of the poll, so would Texas. It’s part of the pre-season issue. I wish they were fully eliminated, but the Networks need the rankings to promote the games. It’s the same with ND, and if you believe( and I do not know your stance) they shouldn’t be ranked; then neither do the Horns or Tide. I understand this is how it’s always been, but it’s time the polls to be more fluid or be eliminated.

It’s not that they need to be more fluid, it’s that you have to have smart people that understand football doing it.
Do we really want USF jumping to top 5 after beating BSU and UF only to drop out of the poll after getting pantsed by Miami? (Some of Josh Pate’s worst work was ranking USF so high after the FL win).
This early in the season, the polls need a healthy balance of on field results and expert judgment based on projections. The rankings don’t mean much, but they’re fun to debate.
The more important thing is to make sure SOS and SOR are properly weighted for playoff selection.

I cannot defend where Bama should be ranked. We may be one of the biggest wild cards of all teams right now. Could go 10-2, could go 7-5.
If I was ranking us, I’d probably put us somewhere between 9 and 15.

You probably have discovered by now that y’all don’t run this conference and never will. If arrogance and oil money could buy championships A&M would have an overflowing trophy case by now. That meat judging trophy looks pretty lonely sitting there after over10 years of mediocracy.
And now you Texans are discovering that buying a kid with a famous name and getting the media to hype him and your school to the stratosphere isn’t getting the results you thought it would. You should have talked with Jimbo Fisher and the Aggies before spending all that money and acting like the entitled trash throwing brats you are

well, I’m not sure I’ve ever been accused of being too positive. If it is going to be both, most likely reasons are:
Bama - QB, Receivers
Texas - defense
UGA - OL & QB
