Still believe it. What he has done is remarkable. Give him Kentucky’s roster and it would be game over…cheers!

Good coach, but the best in the country? That's kind of like Vol fans saying Heupel is best.

Last I checked Heupel hasn't won the East, let alone the championship game. Oats has done the basketball equivalent twice.

When the SEC starts winning the tourney the way the football teams win the CFP, we can talk.
Again, if you want to say he's the best in the conference, that makes sense. The best in the country? Ridiculous.
In the last 15 seasons completed the SEC has won one national title. That was won by our one blue blood.
ACC: 5
Big East: 6
BIG 12: 3
SEC: 1

Your opinion. Oats will change your mind in the next couple of years.

Some of you touting SEC basketball as if it's the best conference remind me of those trying to say someone has passed the SEC in football. The recent history says we have a lot of good teams, but others have multiple title winners.
Outcoaching Cal with less talent isn't exactly a rare thing these days.

He didn’t out coach Cal this year. It’s just what he has done with a decimated roster and coaching staff that is so impressive. He could have gone 0-18 with what he was dealt and nobody would have said anything. Muss was supposed to win the league with what he had coming back. Pearl….the same. If not for a couple of bounces and injury luck Nate could’ve won the SEC with a group he patched together in the offseason. That’s where he truly separates himself from the rest…imo

You say he's the best in the country and all you talk about is the conference that has obviously not produced champions in a long time. I'm not getting it. You wouldn't now (for obvious reasons), but you would absolutely have laughed your arse off if in December if someone had tried to sell you on DeBoer as the best coach in the country last year or Sonny Dykes the year before that. Best in the conference. Stick with an argument that doesn't make you look like a Gump homer.

What in the frick does this mean. He chose that roster.
Pearl has done just as much with CBM from juco, Chaney Johnson from UAH, Broome from Morehead State, etc. GTFOH

As corrupt as the political atmosphere is in Georgia, no one from that state should be posting on a Southern talk app.

It means Bediako leaving late in the game and Bradley and JQ leaving late in the game….he didn’t know until late and patched transfers together to replace them. Those were Bruce’s choice guys from early on. He didn’t have to scramble at the last minute to find players.

There’s truth to this one. Bediako’s departure was probably the single most impactful thing that happened to Bama’s roster this offseason. Bama has literally 0 rim protection and he would have been that guy.

I thought the HC put the roster together, but guess I was wrong.
Bama needs to hire a new roster maker for Nate!

bama was predicted to finish higher than Auburn in just about every preseason poll out there, but you say that Pearl was supposed to win the league “with what he had coming back”.? Too funny.
How about posting Auburn’s roster and highlight all of the returning players (besides Broome) that made you think this.
Congrats!
You have proven to be a moron of the highest order.

Chaney Johnson from UAH wasnt on the top of our board. He was a late addition. If he didnt know Bediako and JQ were leaning leaving that is on him. He went and grabbed Nelson after Bediako left. He could've just as easily grabbed someone else.
