I regret we didn't do it sooner.

Aggie will always be little brother somewhere. To Texas if in big 12 or to LSU if in SEC

I agree with everyone else that says A&M would not have won the Natty last year so it is a moot point. That said, even making the assumption A&M would have won a NC I would still rather be in the SEC. A NC last year would have been great but not at the cost of the opportunity we have in the SEC where we could legitimately have a shot at several over the next couple of decades.
The college football world has drastically shifted and is getting even more unbalanced. The SEC is going to move from being the best college conference to basically being NFL lite where it is a real story whenever any of the Top 8 to 10 teams lose OOC at all. It already pretty much is. The money, publicity, and ability to be the only SEC team in Texas is just a huge advantage longterm compared to staying in the Big 12. That schedule was also just depressing. Ever done a road trip to Lawrence, Kansas or Stillwater, OK?
It was a 100 year decision, no regrets at all.

Big 12 was weak, and you could have ran the table. Decent chance at being 12-0, and as we saw you could play with Bama in a one-game scenario. More than likely, you would have smoked Notre Dame had that been the matchup. This could have been your dream season.
Over the next 100 years, given our unique identity as the Texas team in the SEC, and that identity being separate from the sips, our potential for winning a National Title is far greater. This year, yeah we had the best player in college football. That isn't even debatable. He could have won the BCS. Doesn't even come close to outweighing what the SEC means to the program, and winning a natty means a whole hell of a lot. That is how monumental and program changing this move was. The sleeping giant has finally awoken.

quote:this notion is idiotic. we would have lost once because we had a very bad secondary. that doesnt mean much in the sec because having a strong front 7 means more than a strong secondary considering the offenses. but our secondary would have been torn to shreds in the big 12. i just dont have faith in us running the table when we have to play in a shootout every week

The biggest mistake we made is not joining the SEC eons ago.
And yes, I would have said the same thing had we gone 0-12.
We are finally home.
