I heard quite the stories on why Kiffin would never be offered to coach at BAMA from people that know.

Some were quite shocking to say the least.

Of course you did. Just like we heard shite about Saban and Candy Edwards after he left.

Most of what I heard about Kiffin was while he was still at BAMA.

Lane Kiffin is an immature oaf. That is why he burns out at any job with a spotlight. LSU fans want to say he's "matured". That is delusion. I have been told by many "actual" boosters at several schools that there is one job that Kiffin wants more than any in the world. Alabama

It is also one job he will never, ever obtain.

Saban loves Kiffin. That is what the LSU fans say…

quote:

All that, plus Kiffin’s antics leading up to the game made Saban realize it was time to move on. “How do we score twenty-four points against Washington when they suck?” Saban told a confidant. “He’s obviously thinking about FAU and he’s not thinking about us.”

Early that next morning, Saban made the decision: “I’m firing the cocksucker.”

Still, it was a delicate dance as Jimmy Sexton represented both sides of the equation. Saban didn’t want the situation spinning out of control. As Saban worked with Alabama administrators and close confidants on the wording of what was to come, he was crystal clear that there’d be hell to pay if anyone tipped off Kiffin about what he was planning.

Eventually, the involved parties framed it as a mutual decision to allow Kiffin to focus on his new FAU head coach responsibilities. But everyone involved with the Alabama football program knew it was a firing. “The guy who likes publicizing he got his arse ripped more than anybody is Lane. That was for good reason,” says a former Alabama assistant. “He’s the only coordinator in the history of the game that’s been fired on a Monday before the national championship game.”

Regarding the night before the Washington game, and the next day? Those are legendary.

Getting 3rd party quotes from Saban in there is a nice touch.

You still do these things Stephen. How many DUIs are you up to now?

How many times have you woken up the next day and realized you had misplaced your vehicle like Kiffin?

Ha after reading this I'm not so sure Saban isn't the one telling Kiffin to say screw the SEC. Humiliating LSU and Lane by having them thrown out of the SEC would be a pretty good idea for an Alabama legend.

It was the issue when Kiffin went on a bender the week of the Kentucky game in 2024. That loss cost the best roster in Ole Miss history a chance at the playoffs.

There were numerous incidents at USC, leading to the admin deciding he wasn't worth the trouble and dumping him for Orgeron of all people.

There were numerous incidents at Tuscaloosa that had to be covered up as well. Ole Miss can tell you about several incidents in Oxford. However, they were so desperate to win they just swept them under the rug

When he fails at LSU, it will be the most bitter divorce yet
