Thought he left after 2009 and his wiki page summarizes every season at UF except 2010.

Already been corrected a few times.

There is a massive difference in judging Saban's record at a place like MSU vs. a Bama or Florida.

Don't forget about the curb stomping Nick laid on Urban that year as well.....

Meyer took a 2-9 bowling green to 9-3 in his first season.

Turned Utah around his first season as well.

Saban has beaten Auburn, so I give him the nod.

Acknowledged.....

However, Saban turned around an LSU that really had never accomplished much of anything and turned them into a power. We all know what he has accomplished at Bama. Urban walked into better situations at UF and tOSU than Saban did at LSU and Bama.

I would take 4 titles over 3.

Nope. We're all 100% in agreement. Just like we always are when discussing who is the best at something

Prior to Saban at lsu when was their last sec or national championship? They sucked pretty hard in the 90s. How about the 80s .? Etc?

Let's not forget that Ohio State won 6 or 7 straight B1G titles and had one transition season before Myer got there because of Tressel and then the NCAA allowed two full coaching staffs, so that Myer and his staff could recruit, while Fickell and his staff prepared for the bowl game.

People act like Ohio State was going 4-7 every year before Urban.

He is certainly up there but I don't know how you determine "best". I suppose if he is absolutely the only person in the whole world that could have done what he did this year at OSU, then yes. But is he???

OSU was a Top 5 program with Tressel. Meyer deserves credit for taking things up a notch but there was no rebuilding necessary. He started out with as good of a situation as one could ask for.

Tressel is a good coach and he built OSU to a contender in a relatively weak conference. The NCAA was a hiccup and Urban took the reigns and did a damn good job. But OSU was not in the dumps during Tressel's years and they weren't when Meyer took over.

Now, I will say Urban has built a stronger, more physical team than Tressel built and Urban brought his offensive mind and QB developement that got them an NC last night.

I have thought he was the best for quite a while. It was hard to argue against 4 MNC and all the recruiting championships though. If you give me either one I would take Meyer all else equal.

This. Meyer is going to dominate that conference so he will have plenty of opportunities in the playoffs. Of course once you get to the playoffs, you have a decent shot. Right now there isn't a Big 10 team close to blocking Ohio State's path to the playoffs. There are probably only a couple of teams that even have the potential to eventually become that team.

Quitting Florida and the SEC will turn out to be a great career move for him. No one SEC team will be able to get to the playoffs consistently like Ohio State will.
