JMO but I believe Gus is a pretty good football coach. His offense like Hugh Freeze offense has given Nick and Bama hell each time we've played. This coming from a Bama Fan that hopes the cow college never wins another game, set, match, meet,or inning.

He is a good coach. He has some issues but his offense has been the best Auburn has ever had. And in his 8 years with Auburn, he has brought more to Auburn than any coach in 30 years

Auburn fans have gotten spoiled and will bitch at anything that doesnt go perfect right now. They should sit back and enjoy the great things that we have experienced in the past 8 years. It wont last forever

Bla bla bla. I swear, I think some of your are retards who can not keep up a conversation.

Auburn was a good football team last year that played poorly when injured the last two games. A team the handily beat two #1 ranked teams back to back. And one of them being the eventual national champs

We were a very good team that was missing some depth at RB.

Now go eat your spam and leave the conversation to people who actually have something to say thats not retarded.
Only a simple fool would consider a team that went 3-4 on the road a great team (i.e. "We were not a great team at that point and we had a lot of new pieces")
If you're looking for "retarded",...there you are!

The idea, after his 5 year body of work, that Gus Malzahn shouldn't be the coach at Auburn is the very definition of how stupid college football has gotten in the mass social media era.

Thinking that it would be better for Auburn to go hire an unknown for $1M less a year than a guy who has won the West twice and is 2-3 vs the greatest coach of all time, gone to a national title game and won the SEC, is laughably stupid. A guy who is still relatively young in his coaching trajectory as well.

Gus is not a perfect coach. He's not Nick Saban or Urban Meyer (newsflash, nobody else is). He is, however, a very solid coach who has shown the ability to beat the best and win a bunch of football games. Firing guys like that is how programs become Tennessee or hire Ed Orgeron.

Clearly Muschamp. A Saban disciple that wanted the AU job a couple different times and is almost solely responsible for building the defense AU has trotted out the last 2 years.

To be fair they gave him the contract before he got trashed by Georgia and UCF.

I don't think anybody has ever accused the barn's administration of being very smart.

It really is laughable at times. So many also give him credit for what went right in 2009 and 2010. It is amazing what some of our own fans forget.

The immediate question that has to be asked in replacing a coach is "Who would be an upgrade?". If the answer is Saban/Meyer/Dabo and most others are maybe/maybe not or unknown young guys? Chance are you are testing fate if you jump onto the ravine.

Ed Zackery....it is possible that Will actually saved Gus's job by preventing 4-8 year in 2015. The Bham Bowl was actually a positive.

Id take Saban and Meyer over Gus but honestly, I would rather have Gus than Dabo. He is learning how to be a head coach and that will benefit us going forward. Plus, he knows offense. Not really sure what Dabo brings.

There is only one coach in the SEC I would take over Gus. I just dont understand what some of our fanbase thinks we would do next?

All of this. Gus sort of had AU over a barrel last year. At least he has kept them competitive. Firing Gus or letting him leave would have been inviting disaster. Further, there wasn't much talent available either and who wants to come in and coach Bama's arch rival with Saban there? He's 2-3 against Nick and that is better than anyone else has done. He had a good season despite the way it ended.

fully healthy Auburn would have kicked the shite out of Georgia (again)

Doubtful. Injuries weren’t the problem for them.

Yeah I doubt many HCs do these anonymous interviews - mostly assistants.

Best pass rusher, two starting LBs and best corner out or limited made a difference.

Your OL didn’t have the injury excuse for the dramatic shift. How many of these guys didn’t play in the game?

It was a touchdown game at the start of the 4th quarter... with AU having 1st down at midfield. Kerryon fumbled and the game unraveled from there.

Played in a vacuum (both teams completely healthy and no home field advantage)... I could see AU/uga spitting a 10 game series. Obviously that’s not the way things play out and uga deserves credit for the seccg outcome.

OL played like they did the first game. The difference was a healthy Johnson. The running game enabled Stidham to have time to complete passes. UGA knew after the first quarter that they could tee off on Stidham. That is how Football works.
