Everybody understands it. That's why some schools have practices in place to take away a student's priority to purchase them if they sell them or don't use them. Of course that's hard to monitor by a bunch of humans, which is why those schools monitor that online in the 21st century.

Is that some way to monitor "dedication" without having 30000 people camp out? Unpossible!

They love it. Builds the game hype.
Tent cities are typical, as are dominoes, washers. BBQs. Donuts. etc.
It's the pre-tailgate tailgate.

im sure the student dont hate it. i just cant believe the administration is that far behind the times.

While I was at LSU, the student section was general admission. So to get the best seats, you actually line up for the game early. Not line up for tickets early. I think that's the way it is still done.

So you do it online, then your students can camp out infront of the stadium all week instead of waiting in line for a ticket, then waiting in line to get in.
I see tons of tents and dominoes in that picture too.

Waiting in line to get in? Your students wait in a line to enter the stadium?

Arkansas is the same way.

Seems like a failure. If you have to line up for the game early you can't enjoy the tailgating as much. Might as well get it out of the way on Monday.

Yea you camp out so you can try to be as close to the field as possible because you already have a ticket because it was done online before the season started/first week of a school.
Not really, the students are tailgating while camping. We aren't wasting employees salary by having them issue tickets for 4 days.

you just walk right in at lsu. not many care about sitting on row 1. you cant see from there anyway. there are some who get there right when the gates open 2 hours early but its not common.

Give it time.
Shots from previous games:
Why do so many of y'all care anyway? They're college students.
Much pent-up anger around these parts.
Enjoy game week.

This falls in to the "From the outside you can't understand it, from the inside you can't explain it" category.
Kind of like how they cut down all 10,000 trees for Bonfire by students with an axe. No chainsaws allowed until they were cleaning up the trees to put them on stack.
Either you think that stuff is cool or absolutely freaking nuts. That's just how we are though, DWI.
At least for students, A&M has not only the most student tickets but they get the best seats of any major program. The entire 2nd and 3rd Decks of the East side are all Student tix. There is a special thrill from being able to get 2nd Deck, 1st Row, 50 Yard Line seats as a student right above the "Home of the 12th Man" sign. Simply just registering online to get those seats would be kind of a letdown.

The student section line this past week was INSANE. But it's always like that for the first couple of games.

Those aren't the first tickets that are pulled. It's not a "row 1, row 2, row 3" deal.
2nd deck, fiddy-yard line are the prime seats for which students are waiting.

That's where the problem is then. At LSU, all students pretty much enter the same gate. Would be a big deal if some seats were in an upper deck. But why not just do this for season tickets at the beggining of the year? Are any of these students missing class by doing this?
Posted on 9/9/13 at 10:33 am to EKG
that matters not. still sitting in a line for each home game is a complete backwards way of issuing tickets. i would get it if this was 20 years ago.

I'm a Bammer and I think it's pretty cool the way A&M does student tickets. I'm a little older, but camping out for tickets used to be fun as shite. Did it for several concerts, but only football tickets once while I was a student at Bammer(94 SEC Championship game.)

Plus while it looks extremely boring in pictures those lines usually turn into a lot of fun.
Amen, some of the best times I had at A&M was doing keg stands and smoking J's in front of Kyle waiting for tickets.
