No one talks about how bad arse Sam Houston was.

Fought with Jackson in the war if 1812. Became the governor of TN.

Moved to the Texas territory, married a a Cherokee woman.

Fought for independence as the general of the Texas Army. Became the president of the republic.

And when Texas joined the union he was a state senator.

Good luck finding another person with that resume’. Two wars, a governor, a president and a senator.

That is a full life.

A lot of the war of 1812 was fought up north. Of course, the British ended up burning the white house, as it was, down. The Americans were going to deliver and liberate Canadians once and for all and each time they invaded they got their backside handed to them. To this day, the Canadians remember the War of 1812 much differently than the Americans.

Canada was and is England. It's in all the history books. Between the British army, regulars from Canada, and Tecumseh and his Natives they ran the Americans out of the northern territories, time and again.

British Parliament passed the British North America Act in 1867. The Dominion of Canada was officially born on July 1, 1867. Until 1982, July 1 was celebrated as “Dominion Day” to commemorate the day that Canada became a self-governing Dominion. Today it is officially known as Canada Day.Oct 26, 2015

Everyone should visit the Alamo. As a Texan it is a humbling experience. You would be hard pressed to find anyone today that was as badass as those volunteers.

Come and take it bitches.
