Only way to Keep Texas under wraps is by beating them in every sport you play. The ones crying about texas joining the league are the ones who's teams were owned by texas. Beat them the majority of the time you play them and then they can't say shite.

We’ve already seen the rekindling of that spirit with some recent baseball games. Can’t even imagine how intense football will be.

I’m curious to see if this means the end of your annual game at Jerry world with Aggy

Dumb post. The problem with Texas isn't on the field. It's in all of the politicking and power grabbing in the administrative sector.

That’s fine and it’s one thing to do that in the SWC or Big 12 when they’re one of only a few big brands. But do y’all really think Florida, Georgia, Tennessee Bama, Auburn, A&M, and LSU are just going to sit back and let Texas do whatever?

That remains to be seen, and I'm not against Texas joining. I'm just clarifying that the concerns people have with them joining have nothing to do with being able to beat them in sports.

Fair enough pig. My latest memory of Arkansas fans was a good one. Sat in their section during our last bowl game. Arky fans were buying us beer left and right to help numb the pain of 57 yards of total offense. The hate will return but 30 years apart was a long time ago. Personally, I’m looking forward to finally watching a game in Fayetteville.

They’ve never been in a conference they needed more than the conference in question needed them before.

They aren’t ever going to be able to dictate terms and it sounds like they’ve already got a few votes presumptively against them in whatever they want to do in A&M/Arky/Missou based on how paranoid y’all are about them.

They may help getting the SEC offices moved out of Birmingham though, which would be nice.

The SEC is not a Texas conference. The rest of the SEC are independent states that have their own politics that balance out the conference.

All this SEC new blood (Aggie, Arky, Mizzou) that thinks Actual SEC schools (Bama, Auburn, Georgia, Florida, LSU, Tennessee) are going to take it in the arse from Texas is hilarious.

Texas is an amateur at backstabbing and dick-waving.

No, but if you think Texass wouldn’t do something like try to get Bama, LSU, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, and maybe a few other big money schools to break off from the “lesser” schools and form their own conference, you’re kidding yourself.

You're missing the point of my reply. I'm not arguing to keep them out. The person I responded to said all you had to do to keep Texas "under wraps" was beat them. The Big 12 has been beating them like a red-headed stepchild for the better part of a decade, but that didn't improve their programs' standing within the conference or their bargaining power. Nor did it humble the Texas administration in any way, shape, or form.

I agree they won't have the pull the had in the SWC or the Big 12. Hence why I said I'm not against them joining. The point was that "just beat them" isn't a valid response when addressing the concerns of adding Texas as a conference member.

Even if they did some kind of college sports super league, it would be like 40-50 teams at least and all of y’all would be in it.

A stand alone conference of just the top 15-20 “brands” makes no sense.
