"Do your job…
You know what else I did?"

Yes, we know what else you did Tim. You did drugs and got suspended from your team for an entire season. You left your team hanging because of your personal actions. Was that doing your job?

Did you see what the Real RBU did to OU last year. You guys were RBU in my grandfather's generation.

OU has had some nice backs as most teams in the country have.

Hard to argue recent UGA success with the RB position. I think Bama also has a good case specifically with numbers in college.

Todd Gurley is probably the best running back in the league.
Nick Chubb is putting up a huge rookie year.
Sony Michel is also looking pretty good.

I don't make any claim that so and so is RBU or our team is RBU but we have had significant success in the area the last few years.

I know this goes against UGA's marketing line, but "Runningback U" is such a stupid distinction. Every program worth a damn has churned out dozens and dozens of quality NFL runningbacks. Alabama, Auburn, Miami, USC, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Florida, LSU, etc, etc all have a legitimate claim to call themselves Runningback U of they wanted to.

First, who cares what that former uga player things. The kids have to decide for themselves.

Second, you are correct but it's about recruiting. Kids are impressionable. They often want to believe something so these narratives matter.

You realize most people haven’t heard of half those guys just like USC has a lot more great backs that you’re omitting but can’t think of them because you aren’t a USC fan

I believe in being respectful. I also believe in people not having to use titles if they don't want to unless they're working (or serving or playing or whatever) under the person. The media has no obligation to call Kirby "Coach Smart." If some member of the media wants to, that's entirely his or her choice. And I'm not sure what the frick he means by "mystery." Is the Scooby Gang going to discover that, underneath the "Coach," he has a real name and a penchant for villainy?
