ke Shula coached teams could never close a game. I remember that game like yesterday. 4th and freaking 19!
Bama had it 1st and 2 or 3 after a holding call called back a long first down run, and they only needed to get those 2 or 3 yards to win in regulation. That game was beyond frustrating.

The 93 tie game on the back of David Palmer was one of the greatest efforts I've ever seen in the series.
Yes, it was a tie, but it was also a game Bama had no business staying in with how they played up until that point.
Kept an unbeaten streak alive for another year. 83 yards in 83 seconds.
I was at that game. I remember Barker hitting Kevin Lee for a completion to the UT one. I think the next play was a QB sneak for the TD. Then it was Palmer for the conversion which everyone knew what was coming.
I also experienced Tennessee fans for the first time at a game. I remember them being extremely obnoxious and bold for being at a visiting stadium. One particular fan was this drunk older dude standing at the end of the ramp cussing Bama fans as they passed leaving the stadium. It was wild for sure.

I was 14.
First and only time I recall ever simply praying for Bama not to lose.
Sometimes the big man listens.

"Rocky Stop"
Was a Sophomore in college, watched this game with 6 other UT fans next to ETSU campus (Poor Richards)...
Will never forget how fricking MADDDDDD they were.
We got wasted later so all ended well.
Thanks for posting that GIF, had forgotten about it until then
My #1 is Rocky Block. Was watching with my late father (he died too soon after) and I'll never forget running outside with him and screaming to the neighborhood. Good times, good times

Yeah I was 17 and I though for sure we had lost. It felt like a win but I remember after the wild celebration, the game just ended quietly. UT ran the ball to run out the clock from what I recall and the stadium went silent.

First ever away game. Arguing with a bunch of bama fans, who saved me from the locals clinging to the hood of my car as we drove around looking for parking. The Bama fans were looking for Freddie Kitchens to destroy our defense and that Manning was too raw to be of any help.
That game was amazing. Bama fans were great at the end though
I had a bad feeling before that game and it was confirmed right at the start when Manning hit Joey Kent for a 79 yard TD on the first play of the game.

Which was the game where the QB, I think it was Kitchens, had a receiver wide open for a TD and overthrew it a mile?

Man you just reminded me of the 5 OT game in 2000ish... was watching with a bunch of UT friends and the words "C.J. FAYTON" still haunt me haha.
That game was so frustrating and I can only imagine how happy it made you vol fans who remember it

This. No way we win that game, until we did. Tennessee lines up for winning FG and we block it so that ball rolls all the way back to inside their 35 and Doyle drills the game winner. Really the beginning of Stallings' success at Alabama.
The offense had been so bad in that game, I turned to my brother when UT lined up for the fg and said "The only way we win this game is if this kicked gets blocked and we either return for a TD or it gets knocked backwards about 30 yards". That's when the ball was snapped and it hits Harrison in the face mask and my wish casting became reality. LOL.

LOL..If you're talking about the last play, even if he completes it somehow, the game ends at the one yard line.

1998 traveling between New Orleans and Biloxi. Bama had just scored to make it close, the nervousness hadn’t had time to set in yet when Peerless Price housed the ensuing kickoff for 100 yard touchdown.

I was actually in Gatlinburg during that game. I believe that's the game where Dubose kept calling timeouts and UT kept running the ball right down our gullets for a TD to make it 35-18. I was so mad because 28-18 appeared like we played a good game compared to 35-18. Times have sure changed.
