The second half of the ‘99 game was pure bliss. Tennessee just physically pounded Alabama into submission. Of course anytime that I think of that game it reminds me just how much talent was on that team, and how Phil Fulmer managed to go 9-3 with probably his most loaded roster.

Bama had it 1st and 2 or 3 after a holding call called back a long first down run, and they only needed to get those 2 or 3 yards to win in regulation. That game was beyond frustrating.
Wasn’t that Shula’s famed “jumbo” package that constantly got stopped dead?

Faves: Rocky Stop and Rocky block
Not faves:
watching Jamal Lewis thunder down the sidelines….I swear I could feel the ground shake every step he took
Jason Witten catching every third down that was within 50 yards of him
Peyton directing the band

That was the game where Shaun Alexander rolled up his ankle and it was pretty much over at that point. Bama went on to beat down UF in the SECCG.

1995 - First play of the game. Peyton Manning hits Joey Kent in stride for an 80 yard TD. Later in the game, Manning runs a naked bootleg for a TD to put UT up by 21. By the end of the game 6th ranked Tennessee beats 11th ranked Alabama 41-14, ending a 9 year losing streak to the Tide.
