Wow. I would have thought 50-60 percent chance. 77?
AWESOME
We need to keep playing hard and take care of business down the stretch.
The calculator doesn't pick the teams, 13 humans do. No one loss non-conference champ has ever been put in over a one loss Power 5 champion. There are rules the committee have to follow, they don't just pick "the four best teams".
UT may get in, but UT fans better brace for the real chance a 1 loss Pac 12, Big 12, or believe it or not, ACC champion jumps them.
Go ahead and laugh, but you are going to hear a lot of "experts" talk about how when we get to a 12 team playoff only conference champs will be in the tops four and how for the good of the sport we need more inclusion.
Let's also not forget that nobody, NOBODY, outside of our footprint wants two SEC teams in if there is any other realistic possibility.
Add in the fact that beating Bama don't look as good as it once did, and you better hope LSU doesn't lose again.
I don't think you are a real UT fan anyway.

No way, vols would be out

It’s pretty simple
SECCG champ is in.
B1G champ is in
Those are the only 2 guarantees
In the irony of ironies, the stinking Vols have to root for Bama to win out. If we stumble down the stretch, it opens the door for USC/Oregon.
The stinking Vols need all of the following
Georgia to win the SECCG
TCU Loss. If TCU wins the big 12 even with a loss they might still be in.
Michigan/Overrated State to be a blowout.
They might also need for Oregon not to splatter opponents down the stretch.

Ohio St. got their arse kicked by Clemson 31-0 in the semi-final the year they got picked for the playoff without winning their division.
Thanks for the info. the point stands tho. The committee tends to pick who they think is the best not the conference champ. Conference schedules being what they are can lead to very odd outcomes.

No. LSU sealed it's own fate with 2 losses.

2 loss teams can get in under the right circumstances. A big win over the #1 team would seal the deal.
AU 2017 was in with a win over UGA, just as LSU would be.

A 12-1 Pac 12 champ is also a guarantee.
That leaves one spot for 11-1 Vols, 11-1 Big 10 loser, and 12-1 Big 12 champ TCU. They probably go with the team with more wins and a conference title.

If their name is Southern Cal or possibly Oregon, after that, nobody moves the needle for the advertisers

I think TCU has to go undefeated as B12 is OU and Utx
B1G will pimp both and both have lots of eyeballs so 2 B1G seems probable
In the SEC, Alabama, Florida, and LSU move the needle. Gators are out and Tide is on life support. Georgia is defending so they will get love but Tennessee and Ole Miss are in the same long shot boat as neither appeals to a national audience.

Cincy proved they dont GAS about ads. So did Washington and Mich State.
If UCLA beats USC and Oregon back to back, its a lock.

UT gonna flame out faster in football than they did in baseball

If TCU wins out they are in. They have to play Texas and Baylor so I don’t really see them losing.

Cincy was a 2 fer
Big state and took away the heat of no G5's
Michigan State is in MI and lots of eyeballs (UM tunes in hoping for a MSU loss)
You may be right about UCLA but I will believe it when I see it, not before.

Both rivalry games so I wouldn’t be too shocked if TCU loses either one.
Also will likely have to face UT in the CCG even if they do beat them before then
