It's not LSU's place to make plans for Florida's home game. If a university cannot host a game, it is up to that university to make alternate arrangements. If said university is too scared/ignorant to make such a decision, it's up to the SEC office to get involved and make the decision on what is best for both schools involved and the conference that he represents. That decision was to make the game happen between the Saturday it was originally scheduled and the following Monday as to not interrupt the league schedule. How LSU is to blame for any of this is beyond me. Florida and ultimately the SEC dropped the ball, and both look like clowns.

LSU:
1) offered to play Florida in Gainesville on Saturday night, Sunday or Monday...Florida refused.
2) offered to play Florida in Baton Rouge on Saturday, Sunday or Monday...Florida refused.
3) offered to play Florida in any city in America on Saturday, Sunday, or Monday...Florida refused.
4) offered to play Florida in an empty stadium if they couldn't get security and stadium workers... Florida refused.
5) secured Florida hotel rooms in Baton Rouge and New Orleans...Florida still refused.
6) offered to send its plane to transport the Gators to Baton Rouge or New Orleans... Florida still refused.

What more can LSU do?? It's quite obvious Florida did not want to play this game. This game should have been played somewhere this weekend, and LSU offered everything in its power to make that happen... Florida refused.

There were quite a few other games in Florida and along the coast this weekend. I'm sure they were all cancelled.... Oh wait, they weren't, because those schools were led by people that displayed professionalism and competence.

I can't wait until LSU loses again so this meaningless game discussion goes away.

This can't be stated enough. Alleva offered options in addition to the options that Florida should have already had prepared and presented.

You are saying what Alleva didn't offer, but it doesn't say LSU turned down any of Florida's offers, either.

Florida offered Saturday in Gainesville, or cancel.

If you'd like to present correct information, I would reread the link in the OP.

1, 2 and 3 didn't happen.
5 and 6 are meaningless.

anyways Sunday was a perfectly good option. We gave UF plenty of chances, they didn't want to play the game.

now other Sec teams might have to suffer to get the game in

I'm going to agree with a LSU poster for once. What a great game it would be today. I've come up lame and can't play golf today and really would have liked to watch it. Now all we have are the Saban Assitants Bowl (UGA/SC) and unexciting NFL games.

I started my own thread with a link to the interview. Feel free to read it for apparently the first time.

You might want to do a little more research and listen to the interview.

We're telling you what happened, Alleva has told you what happenned, the national media has told you what happenned, and you're just not accepting it. Not sure why.

What school do you root for?... That might explain why.

Florida is getting roasted nationally, and rightfully so.., there were 2,068 options to get this game played this weekend, and Florida refused them all because they wanted to back-door themselves into the SEC title game, and at the very least give its team time to recover injury-wise before playing LSU.

This is exactly what happened, without question.

NC State and Notre Dame played in a Tropical Storm yesterday under voluntary evacuation orders. LSU and Florida could have played today. Or tomorrow.

At the very least, the game should have been postponed to Sunday and then reevaluated on Friday after the announcement was made Thursday. If it couldn't be played, then cancel. But, at least move it back a day and give the option.

Not even doing that in 2016 was one of the most ridiculous displays of incompetence I have ever seen - unless it was all intentional, that is, which now everyone believes it was.

sole offer to play the game in Gainesville was to play it on Sunday.

And your AD should have accepted that offer

Just like Fulmer should have accepted Bertman's Sunday only offer in 2005?

I posted the interview in the OP. I actually read it. You haven't. Until you have, I don't really feel the need to answer a whole lot of questions.

And everyone saw what an absolute shitfest that game was. Stick to your Sunday argument, because the ND-NCS game only helps Florida's. And we have now seen that Alleva wouldn't play in Gainesville tomorrow.
