And just like that, SideTaint cares about baseball.

Stating a fact doesn't mean I care about it.

The little brother OP's rankings don't make sense.

The Crimson Tide baseball team leads the SEC in all-time wins with 2,837 victories. The program trails only LSU for the most SEC regular season titles with 14 and 7 tournament championships.

But let's rank them at the bottom of the conference for shits and giggles.

Nice rankings!

Thanks.

Sounds like your formula is set in stone, but wish it had a way to factor-in wins in Omaha.

I’ll consider it. Miami comes out a bit ahead because they’ve had more success in the Super Regional era which I think should be worth more. The Canes have been to 13 Super Regionals to ASU’s 5. Miami has won 2 national titles during this era to the Sun Devil’s zero.

I have some LSU fans yelling at me because I’m counting anything prior to 40 years ago, yet your saying ASU’s resume should be ahead of Miami despite ASU’s most recent title coming in 1981…. So you’ll see the predicament I’m in.

I think my metric strikes a good balance between all-time success (going back to 1947) and recent success with recent success counting a good bit more but still honoring the past.

So bonus points for winning a 4-team regional. That is an excellent idea. I know it’s more work, but since you’re the only one giving points for regional champions, you should add that to your slash numbers. Ex: 30/20/10/1

Yes. Literally only an AU fan would rate a program that has 50% more NCs then the next best program as 3rd all time.

So I guess that means you’d rank Minnesota ahead of Georgia and Florida in football? Nebraska is way ahead of LSU in football? I mean if we’re being consistent then that would be your stance.

It’s in the formula, but since that part of the metric is only since 1999, I left it out of the data listed in ( )

Alabama has almost 1,000 more wins than Auburn in baseball.

Both have zero national titles. Auburn has 6 trips to Omaha to Bama’s 5, including 2 more recently. Since the start of the Super Regional format, Auburn has been to five Supers compared to Bama’s four.

We have the same number of NCAA Tournament appearances since 1951.

The resumes are albeit close, but in terms of overall NCAA Tourney success which is all that really matters in this sport, Auburn’s resume is slightly better overall.

So aside from Kentucky, and I assume you’ll for sure say Auburn and Missouri, which other SEC programs are you saying Bama is better than?

Bama loves to hide behind SEC titles as a main metric to rank their program, conveniently making it impossible to be behind the expansion programs of Texas, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Arkansas, and Texas A&M which all have a much better all time resumes.

Seven of your 14 SEC titles predate the creation of the NCAA Tournament (in 1947). Of the 7 left over, four more were before integration.

Sorry but no one is buying this resume.

Through 2000 (the year before Bianco was hired), I show Ole Miss was #36 all-time…. 13th out of the current 16 SEC programs…. Still way ahead of #49 Tennessee, #85 Vanderbilt (!), and #90 Kentucky at that time.

Since Bianco’s hire, Ole Miss’ program has moved from #36 up to #21.

The Rebs have been passed by Vanderbilt during this time, but have moved ahead of fellow SEC rivals Alabama, Missouri, Auburn, Georgia, and Texas A&M. Very solid.

You should weight the numbers according to importance.

There is no way this list is accurate because of two reasons. LSU not being number one and Bama being 38. We shouldn’t even be on the list.

Why doesn't Bama put anyone in the pros?

Must feel like a death sentence to play for that school

How is LSU above USC if USC is better in all 3 categories you are considering?

LSU is the current greatest NCAA baseball program. No metrics are needed. Bama fan fwiw.

AU fan logic. It’s hilarious to watch little brother programs put together their own program ranking methods. You almost never see the big boys doing things like that, because they don’t have to.

Anyone in the top 5 best programs all time knows where they and the people around them rank, no one had to develop a method to help them understand.

All non-troll LSU baseball fans know 2 things:
1) they are currently the best baseball program in the country
2) they still have work to do to be the best baseball program of all time

Meh, don't see how you can consider Texas the forefront. LSU is most definitely the top. They have 8 trophies and winning two of those in 3 years. Have to give credit where credit is due.
