There are a couple of things that surprise me on this list.
I would have guessed that South Carolina would have likely won ten during George Rogers 1980 Heisman winning season, but they only finished 8-4 after losing a bowl game. USC's other three winning seasons were under Steve Spurrier - finishing 11-2 each year between 2011-2013.
Alabama is riding a current 13 consecutive ten win season streak, 2008-2020. If they win ten in 2021, they will tie the consecutive season records with Florida State from 1987-2000.
quote:This is fewer than I realized. Having only had 16 double digit wins in 113 seasons (not subtracting the war year of 1918, so 112 seasons of play). Eleven of those seasons have come since Nick Saban's arrival in 2001, including four straight between 2010-2013.
#4 - LSU - 16 (1908)

#11 - SOUTH CAROLINA - 4 (1984)

All-time 10+ win season totals for each SEC team
The total number of 10+ win seasons for each school and the year in parenthesis it first won at least 10 games:
#1 - ALABAMA - 40 (1920) *1 season vacated with 10 wins by NCAA due to cheating
Wouldn't cheating be better suited for what the B10 did for OSU?

due to cheating
getting textbooks for classes they didn't take and giving them to friends and turning them back in for money.
Should have locked them up, dirty bunch of criminals.

Cheating by any other name or any other school is still....cheating.

Did you know… Auburn has had back to back 10-win seasons only once in their history, in 1988-1989.

Good list
In truth it is a bit easier today because more games are played. For many decades the season was 9 or possibly 10 games plus a possible bowl game but there were precious few bowl games until the last 20+ years or so.

BEST TEAM EVER
What if a team playing the highest level of CFB had 16 wins to zero losses?
What if the same team had 13 shutout victories and never allowed an opponent more than 5 points over those 16 games.
Meanwhile, they averaged 30+ pts a game to their opponents .8 pts per game.
Would they be in the BEST EVER convo alongside some others?

Oh, ok. In that case, Alabama can forfeit all 40 seasons and your 100+ so-called national titles.
