So now we are using opinions as fact?

I think Danielson is terrible. In turn he has made Verne bad.

Danielson knows what he is told on Wed-Fri by the coaches in pre-production meetings. He doesn't know football as well as Todd Blackledge.

This a whole other thread on its own.

You obviously missed my post earlier in which I said LSU was a worse matchup for us than UF.

We have a long ways to go before the SECCG. We still haven't beaten MSU in 2 years and Auburn in 6.

I could give two craps about Florida right now.

If having Chad Jones slap the ball into the endzone counts as a mistake on the receiver's part for trying to break the plane, maybe.

But I don't think that was on Alabama.

The receiver fumbled out of the endzone. Hard not to put that one on his head.

It's not like he dropped the ball. Chad Jones slapped that thing out of his hands like it was a live grenade. I guess it's on the receiver, but he did the right thing by trying to break the plane.

Meh, I guess saying it's on the receiver seems to cheapen the value of a defensive back sprinting 53 yards from one side of the field to the other in about four seconds to save a touchdown and give his team the ball, or something. I don't know. >_>

EDIT: Just so it's out there, LSU didn't "give" the game to Alabama, in my eyes -- Alabama did what they needed to do and took it from LSU. Alabama won that game...I just don't think that play is an example of Alabama making a mistake as much as it is an example of LSU fighting hard as hell to make it a game.

I thought it was a sloppy play on the WR. If he's tackled at the one, then it would be an easy score for the offense.

Chad made a great play though. The receiver being sloppy with the ball doesn't take anything away from the hustle play that Jones made.

If all the holding on Cody had been called, LSU would have never gotten on the board.

This was a sloppy game by both teams. Both teams cost themselves at least 14-21 points apiece. Both teams had numerous costly turnovers. Its safe to say that neither team got the other team's best shot although LSU's d played really well. I believe the talent level was fairly even with the exception of Julio Jones. I believe the coaching was fairly even (couple of questionable calls on both sides) There were calls missed both ways. Complaining about holding calls is ridiculous. There are missed holds both ways in almost every football game that is played. It just happens. Hell of a game to attend! Hats off to both teams!

ETA: I believe the years of either team winning 7 of the last 8 are over for a while based on both teams talent level, coaching ability, and the ability to recruit. I look forward to a bunch of great games in the future.

Yes, they had 29 more offensive yards, that is really not that significant however. I wonder what the score would have been if the holding would have been called on Scotts 30 yard run and not on JPW's.

Plays that I can remember for each team that could have led to points or led to other team's points:

LSU:
Interception by Lee in first quarter that set up 7 pts

Interception by Lee that was returned for touchdown - 7 pts

Interception by Lee while in field goal range - 3pts

Interception by Lee while in field goal range in overtime - 3 pts

Dropped 30 yd pass by Mitchell - Who knows?

Bama:

Fumble into endzone - 7 pts

Fumble on Kickoff Return - 7 pts

So called drops by JJ - Who knows?

Verdict:

LSU gave up atleast a possibility for 20 points and if you factor in that Colt David makes one of those two field goals, it could be 17 points.

Bama won by six in overtime. If the other 17 points are not given in regulation and Bama does not give LSU their 14 pts, LSU wins by three in regulation. LSU played the better all around game, but the QB play was very poor. It happens and is not an excuse. You won because mistakes are part of the game. Everyone can say if this and if that, but the bottom line is we lost and you are SEC West Champs. Enjoy it because it's going to be a battle every year.

Alabama reminds me alot of LSU last year with good receiving, a tough/ good running game, a game managing QB, a tough defensive line, a good oline, and a way to make almost every game close. Congrats on the win, and if you end up winning the SEC Championship, I will be pulling for you in the NC game. Go SEC and Congrats on the win

you won, but you will have to do better not to get embarrassed by UF or any other team in a bowl; no hate, just mho. Hopefully you won't have to play Boise State and get skull drug and embarrass the conference
