I know that nobody wants to consider the thought of Alabama asking Nick Saban to retire, but I'm thinking it might be in their best interest to do exactly that.

Why? Because each year that passes and Dabo gets closer to living legend status at Clemson, the less likely he is to leave once Saban does retire.

So Alabama's conundrum is this, do we ride out Saban until he dies in the football complex, or do we hedge our bet on long term success by striking while the iron is hot on Swinney.

Birdies are chirppin'.

No, we will ride with Saban as long as he wants to keep going.

Nah - Saban will be dead and Bama will be propping him up in his office chair for recruits a la Weekend at Bernies.

This is the dumbest thing I've ever read on the Rant... or any of its other subforums.

And, considering I've read posts by Rex, Decatur, TexRidder, Toddy, and some guy with a milkshake as his avatar, that is quite the achievement.

When Saban first signed at Alabama, 100 women across the US in households similar to the one Saban grew up in were impregnated with his clone.

When the time is right, we will replace Saban with...himself

And he’ll still be cherry picking who he wants out of Louisiana.

Saban can stay as long as he wants.

It will have no bearing one iota, whatsoever on Dabo returning home. None.

We have anything but a conundrum. Bama is one of the 2 or 3 most attractive jobs in college football. U could EASILY make the case it's the best. Dabo better be praying we hire HIM. Lots of guys could prove their worth the next few years and become more attractive candidates to the gold standard of college football history.

This entire post reads like state sponsored propaganda.

Let Saban stay as long as he wants. I don’t care if it costs getting Dabo.

Only way Saban leaves is if Belichick retires, hands the patriots over to him with the codes to all his spy satellites.

Saban will still be coaching at Alabama when the current crop of sec coaches have been fired or moved on.
