How much is the NC tainted by the fact that they played a high school division c school for the National Championship? They should of played a SEC team like Georgia or Florida similar to what LSU had to do for the 2011 title.

Ahhh yes, glad you asked about this. You can see all the championship trophies in the Mal Moore building next time you’re in Title Town.

They played 4 teams that were in the BCS Top 10 after the season and 5 teams ranked Top 25 at end of the season. 5 teams ranked in the final AP poll, 3 teams that were in the Top 5 in the final coaches poll, and 6 teams that were ranked when they played them.

Bama certainly was deserving of playing for it and I guess if you look at the schedule it was hard to argue against Norte Dame but once they were on the field it was obvious that Notre Dame was worse than 4 or 5 SEC schools.

None, but in typical bama fortune they wouldn't even have been in the game had Ohio State not been on probation.

Bama would’ve smoked 2012 Florida. Instead of 21-0, think 31-0

The point is that they didn’t have to do it twice...

Just wait until you find out who Alabama played in the 2012 SEC championship game.

Norte Dame

They were highly overrated all year. They benefited greatly from Ohio State not being able to be in the post season. But, that’s what it was. They winner of the SEC title game was going to destroy Notre Dame big time.

Which is why ND should join a conference if they wish to be taken seriously.
They are consistently over-rated to start the season, have a weak self-made schedule, and no conference championship game to worry about. They should be contending for the MNC every year if they were actually as good as advertised.
That said, the 2012 bama team was really good, but it would have been nice to see an actual worthy opponent in the MNC game.
