No they haven't. Colorado State is better offensively than anyone Auburn has played, Bama beat lsu who Auburn lost to and they beat Mercer 56-0 where Auburn struggled with them the entire game and played like shite. You lost to clemson so that doesn't count for anything. You did beat ga soundly but a team they barely beat was blown off the rails last weekend. All of that means exactly jack shite. Both teams have played a solid schedule a ND Bama should win a close game behind the best qb and a gulf between coaching staffs. This is game historically to that has had very few upsets and the better team usually wins and Bama has been the better team all year. The only decided advantage Auburn has in this game is at kicker.

And a team Georgia beat the brakes off of (Miss St.) Bama barely beat. Just had to throw that out there. Don't really have any idea who will win this game and don't really care. Good luck to both teams.

Well if he meant to say that Fitz has been a more effective runner, he was right.

I honestly don't know what he said. I kind of jumped in after he left. I am not saying Fitz is a more effective passer or would make a better NFL qb. There is so much more to playing qb in college than passing and that is why I prefer the total qbr, over passer rating. It accounts for passing, rushing, and the most important stat of all for a ball handler, turnovers .Ask any coach what the key to the game is, and all of them will say "turnovers". Fitz has been a more effective qb and leader on offense than Stidhamm, and it really isn't even close.

I have no idea how this game will play out quite frankly.

Stats in College Football is a waste of time. Show me stats against common opponents and it might be worth looking at.

Very good comparison. Thanks for doing it.

While obviously who the teams have played makes an impact, trends are trends. Should be one hell of a game.

You can't say that without comparing who the teams have played. You can say better numbers but can't just say "better". Have you looked at their schedule?

Stats mean quite a bit. They basically show what we already know, Bama has an incredible defense as usual. Both offenses can be solid if run games work. Auburn has a really strong defense this year and may not be quite as dominate as Bama’s but Bama has the intimidation factor on most teams. Most teams quit.

This Iron Bowl should be a goody and come down to the wire. Hurts has more experience in these close games than does Stidham but not by much since most Bama games are blow outs.

The home field advantage should equal that out since that stadium will be rocking. Not sure how to factor that in really.

Yeah I don’t think we struggled with them either. 49-10

Doesn’t matter and the ole “transitive property” never holds water. Every team matches up differently with other teams.

They played Alabama and that's been the number 1 team in the country with the best defense in almost every category so I'd say that's pretty stout.

ell they do but it doesn't matter; Hurts will be the best qb on the field and he along with the giant gulf in coaching talent will be the difference in the game.

Bama is gonna lose, mane. Might as well start accepting it now.

I keep seeing this. Since when is Bama's staff an incredible game-day staff? They recruit, put fast black dudes on the field, and they win most games. Their x's and o's aren't impressive
