“Alabama used to get all the calls under Saban” is idiotic. Stats don’t match narrative.

The graph below tells a different story. And in 2015 NONE of our SEC opponents were called for holding against us. Not one holding call against a defensive line that included Jonathan Allen, A’shawn Robinson, and other freaks.
ETA: Sorry, we had one holding called against Arkansas that we declined. So one holding call against a defense that led the nation in sacks with 54.

Don’t worry, they’ll move the goalposts and say “It’s the timing of the calls”…which is also bullshite.

I can hear the quieting of the outrage from the UGA fans who took over X trying to say "Alabama used to get all the calls", then you put this graph in front of them and their lips start quivering in disappointment.

This data may not mean what you think it does.Head-to-head penalties called since 2021
• Georgia Penalties: 52 penalties for 506 yards.
• Alabama Penalties: 31 penalties for 244 yards.
Alabama averaged a national penalty ranking of 83.2, while Georgia averaged an elite national ranking of 37.6 from 2021 through the 2025 seasons.
Alabama tends to receive favorable calls in major games, and this trend appears consistent in recent seasons. I don’t expect you to understand what I just posted.

This does not count non calls. That was the biggest problem. It also does nothing with reviews of things like catch or no catch which you benefitted from in some major ways. Same thing with Georgia Saturday. I mean, if we're just gonna count calls, a preference was shown against Georgia Saturday. They called not one holding penalty on your offense all game.

Couldn't be done. It was like trying to catch smoke with your bare hands
