Would you let me know if you see anything. I'm up in Ohio so ill probably miss it. But I've got a strong back and can get away for a couple of days. Tuscaloosa has been so good to me. Seeing it like this kills me. Call for volunteers today at noon at St. Mathias Episcopal Church

Me and my family are praying for those that lost loved ones and for those that lost their homes in the last several days.
My family will be taking up donations for disaster relief in Alabama. I hope that everyone that can't volunteer their time do the same.

I don't want to start another thread and seem classless, but I've read elsewhere that some Greeks at UA were partying and celebrating after this occurred?
Any truth?

Prayers sent for all of those affected by this horrific event. This is so terrible....
I had to make some calls earlier to check on friends in the Birmingham area....Thank goodness they were okay, but so many people are going through so much pain & suffering...It's heartbreaking.

Tuscaloosa mayor, and I'm paraphrasing, 36 confirmed dead, there are university students among the fatalities.
My moms boyfriend works on 15th street. Said he got a crazy video of the tornado and had to help dig out 3 students that were dead last night.
Sounds worse than they are even saying.

listening in on FEMA call w/ Fugate atm
National Guard heading in to Tuscaloosa ( a lot of them) to aid in search and rescue
also IMPLORING EVERYONE to stay AWAY from the damaged parts of TTown as it may hinder S&R ..
I know everyone is organizing "volunteer" help on here and elsewhere...but the best thing to do is stay OUT
Fugate is heading to AL later this a/m to tour in the place of the president
More details will be released shortly

Could someone change the title to Alabama AND Mississippi tornado discussion
We actually had 32 people killed in Mississippi and millions and millions of dollars of damage and destruction as well.

Hope all your fam and friends were safe. These storms were unreal and affected many from several states.

As well as Tennessee, Georgia, and Virginia. Awful stuff.
Not sure if anyone posted this one yet, but this is probably the closest footage to the tornado I've seen, at least. This guy understandably freaks out towards the end.
Taken from his car.
Sorry if Germans.
Praying for all affected.

Hard to believe this thing stayed that strong for that long. What's the pleasant grove death toll at? I heard 4-6 earlier
Posted on 4/28/11 at 8:24 am to Golgi Apparatus
Haven't heard a figure. I'm sure it'll be higher than that. The shots from the Fox helicopter showed homes completely levelled. There wouldn't have been any safe place in them.
