Helluva class by Alabama, an all timer. Holstein and Lonergan in the top 30 though…? ESPN has some weird rankings there. That duo of Young and Haynes is a wild one for the future.

Assuming I calculated correctly, Texas was 220-57-5 from 1959 until 1983. I didn't realize that was a "brief period of being elite." Mack Brown had 9 straight 10-win seasons, which was the second longest all-time streak until Saban surpassed it. Texas is in a down period, just like any other program has gone through. College football is cyclical. I assumed someone who "studies the history" of other programs would understand that.

If you seriously think we're never going to come out of this spell of middling play, you're delusional.

Bama lowest ranked class the last 10 years has probable been ranked 2 or 3. Georgia matches that talent. No one else. Take great athletes and good coaching and you win championships.

Yea, and 2 of their 5 stars came from our state.
So much for: "the decline is real"

Saban couldn’t even make the CFP with a Heisman winner at QB and the top defensive player in the country

But I’m sure some freshmen will make all the difference!

Update: A1abana is 0-3 in their most recent matchups with LSU, UGAy, and Tennessee.

That’s nice. They really wanted to go to Bama. I know Saban is anti-NIL so no way any of them are getting paid.

Turned down buckets of money just to play at Bama. Impressive.

Everybody should stop and try to wrap your brain around this!
"Chew on that for a second. Alabama’s five-star recruits are picked in the first round 51.5 percent of the time. Five-star recruits that go to any other school, at least on average, get selected 21.2 percent of the time. A five-star prospect who picks Alabama is more than doubly likely to be selected in the first round."

The big question SHOULD be:
Why would a 5* pick ANY other school than Alabama?

If Kelly even approaches this type of recruiting he's going to beat Bama like a bald headed mule.

So basically you’re saying IF Kelly becomes more competent at the most essential part of his job he may have more success against his daddy Saban? Hot take.

They will make the NFL no matter where they go if they make the plays. They don't need Saban to get to the NFL. Saban on the other hand needs them to win. He can't even get the most talented team in the country to the playoffs, so obviously he is coaching them down if anything.

You fricking simpleton!
Nobody said they wouldn't make it to the NFL. It's the First round that gets them the huge salary, and signing bonus!
If you can't follow the topic, don't interrupt the grown ups.

So did 8&4 last year. How’d work out for them? You think Nick can handle all the massive egos coming in? I think not.
