Congrats, that is a big time Home and Home series. The Big 10 is the closest league top to bottom relative to the SEC in terms of Big stadiums, great game day venue and atmosphere and good football teams.

I’m thinking this is exactly what coaches/AD’s are thinking is going to happen and that’s why these awesome games are getting scheduled.

When they backed out of the home and home Michigan State was rolling. They won 11 or more games 5 out of 6 years in a row. I know they’ve since shite the bed. None of that changes the fact that Bama pussed out of the home and home.

After a decade in which we had 1 P5 home game in our season ticket package (Penn State, 2010) - starting in 2023 Alabama season ticket holders will get to see the following teams in Bryant-Denny

2023 - Texas
2025 - Wisconsin
2026 - Florida State
2027 - West Virginia
2028 - Ohio State
2029 - Notre Dame
2031 - Georgia Tech
2032 - Arizona
2033 - Oklahoma
2035 - Virginia Tech

Greg Byrne deserves a fvckin raise

That Michigan State series would have been in 2016-17. Alabama got a USC team that finished top 5 in 2016. And played a top 5 Florida State team in 2017. Basically split on that one.

But Michigan State series would have lost some luster anyway, considering we would have just played them in the Cotton Bowl.

LofvckinL

Alabama has taken Michigan State's soul twice. Nobody at Alabama was scared of Michigan State. Good gosh, what absurdity.

They emphatically moved up a notch with the USC matchup in 2016. Trading a top five win for what would have been a 3-9 Michigan State team.

Obviously Bama is a much better program than Michigan State, and blasted them twice. No one is arguing against that. Just stating the fact that Bama backed out of the series. It was a puss move. Glad Bama is finally starting to schedule decent teams, and seem to finally be willing to go to another campus (have to see it to believe it though).

We literally traded games with Michigan State for games with USC and Florida State.

No matter how many times you say it, it doesn't make it true.

During that time span when Bama backed out, MSU was a better program than USC. You’re right though, they had a 3 win season when they were scheduled to play.

Try again.

Michigan St was offered a game and turned it down.

MSU has never been a better program than USC.

What the frick are you talking about? Do you mean to say the team was having more success at the time?

And lost 49-7 and 38-0 in recent bowl games versus Alabama. Don’t forget that.

The series was cancelled in 2013. There wasn't much difference between USC and MSU for the 5 years prior to that.

Alabama cancelled the Michigan State series in September 2013. Michigan State had gone 11-2 in 2010 (and been dump trucked by said Alabama), 11-3 in 2011 and 7-6 in 2012.

Alabama scheduled the USC game to take the place of #1 of the MSU games in July 2014. USC had gone 10-2 in 2011, 7-6 in 2012 and 10-4 in 2013.

Alabama scheduled the Florida State game to take the place of #2 of the MSU games in June 2015. Florida State had gone 12-2 in 2012, 14-0 in 2013 and 13-1 in 2014.

So, yea, you are just wrong.

I don't think they are, and I never understood the complaints about them, other than for season ticket holders.

It's the format championships are played on.
