Don't forget 2001 Nebraska and 2003 Oklahoma.

And if you look at the overall resume, and take the stickers off the helmets, SC is the better team at the moment.

FEI: Bama 8 / USCe 13
FEI O: Bama 17 / USCe 39
FEI D: Bama 9 / USCe 5
Head to Head: Bama
Top 25 Wins: Bama
SOS: Bama
Best Win: Bama (UGA)

USCe had a great season but their resume simply isn’t as good.

“Deserving” is such a bullshite word that’s is being thrown around by a bunch of simps. South Carolina is really good, but how are they “deserving?”

i'll answer this with an old fashioned favorite....the "eye test". bama lost to LSU in 2011 and then all the excuses poured in. missed FG's, outgained us (by what 45 yards), best loss in the country, but they pass "the eye test".

to me, south carolina has better losses, so they pass the eye test. and their loss to us can very easily be considered fluke because their qb went down and we got some beneficial (although i think right) calls.

bama has a slightly better win vs a 2 loss uga at home, while SC has a win vs a 2 loss Clemson at the time on the road in a rivalry game. so again, its going to come down to how many committee members use their magic wands to choose "deserving" vs "best" vs "eye test". gonna be a wild week waiting either way.

Carolina will continue its climb while Alabama continues it's slide downward

Sellers looks like someone to build around at QB so I agree Carolina is on an upswing at the moment.

But let’s not forget Beamer was on his way to getting fired at one point last year, was sitting at 3-3 this year early and this is the first 9 win season you’ve had since what 2017?

Maybe just pump the breaks and enjoy the success this year?

Let's not make up stories. Beamer was never on his way to getting fired.

Talk about some revisionist history, wow.

Go back and read the boards or listen to the media people from when he was sitting at 2-6 last year and tell me people didn’t want his arse gone. Didn’t y’all almost lose to Jacksonville State? People were losing their minds.

That team doesn't deserve to play for a national championship, in my world of college football...

That’s fine, but the issue is that Josh Pate (like all of us here) has no say in the matter. The talking heads can argue about it, the message boards can argue about it, Twitter/X can argue about it, but none of it matters because none of us have even the tiniest impact on what the committee decides to do. They’re going to do what they want to do.

Also how many on the committee consider "head to head"

Do you think the AD meetings with the boosters (who are by definition fans) were any different at 2-6 or halftime vs Jax St than the message boards?

You can spin it however you want but a sizable percentage if not an actual majority of your fans wanted him gone at that point.

Just admit he turned it around and you’re happy with him now because he found a DL and a QB, no need to change history.

You obviously Don't understand how Carolina works. Beamer is to buddy buddy with the powers to be for him to have been fired. Same reason Ray Tanner was never fired as AD.

Is a 2 pt home win REALLY that much better or did one team just get better breaks in the game?

Is forcing 4 turnovers (3 from the QB alone) considered "a break" now?

It’s made for TV.

The brands are Ohio State/Notre Dame/Penn State matching up against Alabama/Tennesee/Georgia in whatever combinations they like.

In this case however it wasn’t LSU versus Alabama for a spot in the title game. It was Bama versus Oklahoma State.

Compare the resumes of Bama and Oklahoma State that year what do you get?

Bama
Best win - #5 Arkansas
Loss - #1 LSU

OKIE state
Best win - #15 KSU
Loss - Unranked Iowa State

No common opponents.

Given how it worked out, think Okie State lets LSU cross the 50 twice? Once going one way, 2 plays later going back the other.

He was talking about how stupid the 12 team playoffs are, and he's right.

If it was a 4 team playoff still, Alabama wouldn't be in the conversation at all. But as he pointed out - it's 12 teams now, not 4.

Piss off.
