"monumental risk"? Actually it's a fatal mistake.

GTFO of here. Like a Texas fan has any fricking room to chime in on anything besides being a dumpster fire since Bama broke your team in 2009.

2 years? More like 4-5 with his brother coming to Bama too.

His brother is not a clone. Good QB, but expecting him to be as good as Tua is setting yourself up for disappointment. He may be great. Or he may get beat out by Paul Tyson or someone else.

Alabama is good but...

Total Defense ranks:

Arkansas State: 94th
Louisville: 85th
Ole Miss: 124th

We'll get all the answers we want vs Auburn, LSU, Miss St, etc.

Cfbstats has it at:

Arkansas State: 93
Louisville: 82
Ole Miss: 127

But, nonetheless, had a UA offensive onslaught not been a factor, it would be:

Arkansas State: 30th
Louisville: 34th
Ole Miss: 127 ( no change; they actually improved marginally with the UA #s; there may not be a more diametrically opposed offense and defense in CFB history)

None of which really matters, as anything can happen on any given day. Lots of football to play. But, it has been fun watching the D be able to relax and have fun knowing they haven't been asked to carry the team. Unreal for me that UA is leading the nation in scoring offense and their starting QB hasnt played a full half... the sos isnt great, but it's not exactly horrid to date either (28th sagarin; 17th team rankings; and 46th on football outsiders).

I guess a GOAT overtime comeback against the #1 team for all the marbles doesn't count for much around here....

"Yeaaaaahhhhh......but lets see what he can really do when he faces a good defense"

- All of his stats are at the end of blowouts it doesn't matter

- Yea, but it was 1 half and they were unprepared we'll see how he does over a full season

- Oh yea but can he even do it against a good team?

Good times

Every time Bama beats a team this year:

"Ya, but they were overrated. When is bama going to play a REAL team"?

These guys are so puckered right now because of what's coming. Hoping this really isn't happening. Hell I am struggling with it myself. Is this really happening?

After what Bama has done to other teams over the years, adding Tua is like throwing gasoline onto the fire.

Bama has gotten by with a bunch of guys at QB who aren't bad, but are great overall. They're usually surrounded by great blocking, a run game, elite wide outs, and a defense that not only holds leads but extends them. Rarely are they asked to carry the team because they're in such a great situation. Tua looks to be hands down better than anyone Bama has had in recent history. He's going to win so many damn games in a dominating fashion. Bama fans need to remember to take this in. But even the greatest players have bad games. Even kings fall. Mike Elko and the A&M defense will have something for him. It won't be over quickly and you won't enjoy it.

Bama's had a number of teams with more offensive talent than this year's team

What? Which ones?

Yep - totally agree (we even had a long discussion about this in one of those threads where somebody said AJ McCarron was one of the GOAT SEC QBs LULZ).

We handled you guys just fine last year in your house with Jalen at QB.

It won't be Jalen who steps out onto the field.

You "handled" a team with a defense led by a guy who just lost in back to back weeks to Colorado St & North Texas.

By "handled" you mean you won a 1 score game.

If the first 3 games are any indication, there's a decent chance they won't.
