This thread is silly, really. I love LSU, but the University simply isn't comparable to UA.

The degrees are comparable. Like I posted earlier, LSU's alumni base and networking opportunities in Houston and Dallas make it a more valuable degree in my opinion.

LSU (and the state) need better leadership imho. If UA can survive (and thrive) in the recession then there's no reason why LSU can't. UA is better than ever, and I hope that trend continues now that Dr. Witt is gone.

Yeah, and the founder of Google went to Michigan? I don't see your point. If you would like to compare alumni, by all means please...roll up your sleeves.

Anyone here attend Bama's Law school? Would going there only benefit someone if they stayed instate or is the degree worth more than that? With Bama's upswing I see it being worth more in the future.

It's just the ignorance and sheer stupidity of that "school". For example, the inbred hick bragging about a CFO at PWC when right down the road Tim Cook is only the CEO of Apple.

When it comes to LSU and the University of Alabama, it’s a great rivalry on the football field. But when the stadium lights go off and the two schools are compared academically, Alabama looks to be pulling away.

Cripple fight!

What matters..

How much it costs and what it is worth.

quote:

Graduates’ starting salaries:

LSU — $47,300

Alabama — $41,500

Graduates’ mid-career salaries:

LSU — $83,200

Alabama — $76,500

quote:

Median borrowing:

LSU: $172 per month

Alabama $233 per month

LSU is the better choice from a broad and practical standpoint.

Heh, truth be known, I graduated with "Thank Tha Lawd" honors.

Most schools have degree programs which are more highly respected than others they offer. My degree was tough, real tough. I did not have a sterling GPA but am very proud to have made it through. It all worked out in the end and I've probably done better in life than I deserve after going through a few potholes here and there.

I have a serious question to ask you. What are you doing on an SEC sports forum wasting your/our time with all this insignificant, biased, elitist bullshite? We have nothing in common with you, share precious few of your "opinions", and hell, we don't like you. Do everybody (including yourself) a favor and move on down the line.

I wasn't bragging about a Bama alum being a CEO at PWC. I was providing an example to counter what you said about people in big business laughing at Bama degrees. No one laughed at Samuel DiPiazzi. You really are an idiot. What are you 30 years old? Don't you think it's kind of pathetic you're on the SEC rant trying to down SEC schools? You're obviously so satisfied with your life and what that Michigan degree got you.

Exactly.

Networking and having a plan for your individual career path is the key. In the end the piece of paper you get is just a hoop you have to jump through. This is correct most of the time unless you are talking about "the" best or best known school for a particular discipline. After networking, it comes down to getting the job done work ethic.
