I would have to agree here. Teams like Texas, Ohio State, and Boise State should be ahead of us. All three teams are solid and have depth. Alabama is the same way for the most part, but the schedules for the aforementioned teams just line up better for them. Outside of Iowa and maybe Penn State, OSU will more than likely have no problem running the table. The same goes for Texas with Oklahoma and Boise State with Virginia Tech. If I were ranking them I would do something like this:
1. Ohio State
2. Boise State
3. Texas
4. Alabama
5. Florida
1. Ohio State
2. Boise State
3. Texas
4. Alabama
5. Florida

This is true but I rank by schedule and not just talent. OSU, Boise State, and Texas have an easier road to the BCS than Alabama does. That is why I rank Texas ahead of us.
And Alahunter, I agree with you. I think OU will explode this year and be a top five team again. Texas will lose in the Red River Shootout.

I would rather be #1 at the end of the year again. However, we should start out at 1 because of the way Saban has recruited and plus, I'm a firm believer in you stay #1 until someone knocks you off.

The only problem with that is IF those teams with an easy schedule go undefeated, they would stay in the hunt and get killed in the NCG by a far superior team that's battle tested.

Ok so look at floida. They lose the best qb in their schools history, best linemen, leading receiver and Hernandez on offense. They lose both their de's,star lb,Cb AND Defensive coach. How many household names do they return? lol yeah.Oh wait I'm forgetting florida just reloads every year and leadership,new staff members, new qb who hasn't started a game,ect.. shite like that doesn't matter, right?

Both FL and AL lose a lot on defense....FL and TX have to replace QBs which is why they are lower......I am sure Brantley will be a good one, but as much as it pains me to say it....Tebow will likely go down in history as the greatest college football player of all time.....that is pretty dang hard to replace.

Bottom line...agree with the ranking, but I dont agree with the reasoning of it being only defense to call them overrated. It is the newcomer of a QB as the reason! I still don't think they are overrated...just explaining the reason AL didn't drop with them....again...can't argue with you on your point.

So true. Amazing return guy, solid db that could blitz but most importantly.......a leader big time. Hard to replace McClain but we are stacked at LB. Much more worried with replacing Javy.

2) I'll take our defense, losses and all, over anyone in the SEC statistically going into next season right now and not think twice. We can bump this thread at the end of the season. I'm a little concerned about the secondary but I'm telling you now, we have some animals up front. Dareus obviously is key but I'm assuming he only misses a couple games at most.
