Yeah but that guy who played against Alabama showed some potential. If he stays healthy they will be fine, Georgia on other hand has no clue what to expect.

Well 4 but one with 43 seconds left so I don't really count that one. And played well for being thrown into the biggest game of year.

It isn't anywhere nice, it is right in shopping center where Dominoes pizza is and Scoop and Doo's. Was decent food and reasonably priced however and they have enough tv's where I could watch sports.

The last time Alabama started the season ranked #1...it was the kiss of death. Hopefully that won't happen this time.

Now you see someone asked me if I lived on this website earlier. Yet here we are, I have been posting 2 years longer and have less post. We should get married and have a cubdroppings.net

I love it that Bama is getting all the hype. Saban will have his usual meltdown when they lose and chastise the media for all their hype.
And so it goes...

Why not Shreveport? We still have a reserved floor at 3 different hotels there.

I will say this: While I don't think that Alabama is the best team this year, until they lose they should stay at the top. You can't fault a team for continuing winning.

That said, I would put TCU, Boise State and Texas up towards the top 5. I hate to even see Ohio State play for the championship since it just seems like a waste.

So they say Texas and UF are overrated because they lose some key players and most of their defense, but Alabama gets a free pass in that category, and is not listed as overrated, instead, left as the obvious #1.

Agreed. They return only three proven players on defense, and one is coming back from injury. They lost both starting corners, their starting free safety, all four linebackers, and most of their defensive line.

This defense will experience some growing pains. They are not the best team on paper.

Ohio State is. You can flame away for that comment but it is true.

It is a new season but until someone beats us, the perception is that we are going to win the west again. We lost alot on D but UF and UT lost key players as well. Y'all lost alot as well but all I've been hearing is that LSU's replacements will be better but Bama's replacement's on D will be worse even though Saban is the best secondary coach in the business.

BTW, polls shouldn't be released until week 4 IMO.

We lost a couple of players on the DL that underperformed as seniors and were out played much of the time by the players that rotated in for them.

We lost our outside LB's and this is our biggest ?? on defense. We do, however, have 2 fourth year juniors ready to step in and show what they can do and Chavis is well known for developing very good LB's.

We lost one safety and one corner but all the guys stepping into starting rolls played a lot last year.

We didn't lose our entire 2 deep anywhere on defense like bama did. Everyone stepping into a starting roll this year, was a rotating player last year and has game experience.

Same goes on the offensive side of the ball. Every player taking over a starting position rotated in throughout the season last year and all but one started a game or two to fill in for an injured player at some point in the season.

I have always said that if you won the bcs championship the year before, you are #1 next year until proven otherwise.

I think y'alls D will be better under Chavis' 2nd year but I also don't think our D will be as bad as what some people on here say even with the loss of some key players. Yes we lost alot but last time I checked, Saban and Smart are great at developing defensive players. Most of the guys stepping in this year got PT last year and know the system. It's not like we're replacing them with all true freshmen.

Everyone was down on our O last year because we lost 3 OL but that turned out just fine. They'll have some growing pains on D but I think they'll be fine by the Arky game barring injuries.
