Monticello,
I believe you need some perspective. Alabama is a top ten team. There is a great possibility that with this lost, the attitude will change within the team and they will play like we all know they are capable of.
Not sure how long you have been a fan, but all things are cyclical and after ten years, it was just UM's turn. We are a fine team with much to play for. Do not jump off the ledge just yet.
We got beat by a good Mississippi team. They have been getting their brains kicked out by us for years. Let Ole Miss have their day in the sun. I'm sure the rain will return sooner rather than later for them. In fact, I predict A&M will play with full abandonment this Saturday and hand Ole Miss a loss.
Let's focus on ARKY. This game will determine if your premise is true. Until then, Roll Tide!

It happened to Miami, SC, and UF. Problems with entitled recruits, loss of coordinators etc start to take a toll on a program. We'll see if Bama can overcome it.
Yep. But the majority of Bama fans somehow think that it will never happen to Alabama because Saban is a God who would never allow it. You need talent to win football games. But over the course of a season you also need a solid core of 3 star guys who thank God every day for having the opportunity to play football at the University of Alabama. You need some kids you didn't have to beg to play for you.

They lost one game, come off the ledge.

It is the worst. Some of them seem to have the shortest memories.
I will never understand the notion of going in to every season thinking we are going to go undefeated. It would take the fun out of it for me.

What day of the melt is this? Damn, it's almost been a year!

This is where people fail to attribute luck to success and failure. Alabama was incredibly lucky to win three of four. Now the luck isn't going their way. It's no more complicated than that.

These guys are spoiled brats. Any time we lose they react like this.
Then when we win, they start talking shite to Auburn and other fanbases. They should just shut up. They only support when we're winning.
I chose to attend Alabama while Mike Shula was the coach. Trust me, I have been through the bad times and the good. I'm a huge Alabama supporter and I support this team. But I'm gonna call out the bad just like I will point out the good, and right now I see a lot of problems creeping into this program.

Look at the bright side.
You are not LSU

I don't. Which is my entire point. This is no longer an Alabama program we should expect national titles out of on a consistent basis. We have dropped back down to reality. Still a very solid top 5 overall program though, which I am fine with.

I think you are misremembering our 3 championship seasons.
It is a game of inches (and seconds I guess for the auburn fans). 09 we got some good breaks and ran the table, but could have easily lost to Unranked UT as well as auburn and probably another I can't remember. 11 we lost to a great LSU teams at home even though that was one of the best alabama teams I can remember ever having. 12 we were not nearly as good as the year before, close wins against UGA and LSU and got beat by A&M at home. All three if those games were decided on last play of the game. We are a couple of first downs or missed field goals away from beating auburn last year, we also had the center to down I'm that game as well which hurt us in short yardage. OU stomped us. And then we play poorly against ole miss, have injuries and turnovers and were still right there.
Tl;dr - 2011 was the only truly dominant, we caught breaks the other title years. This team isn't as good as others, but we are young in some places and inexperienced in others. No reason to believe we won't be the same as we have been in the future

I'll also add, you guys recruited them. They are who your coaches chose, and who recruiting sites deemed to be the cream of the crop for how ever many years running.
Bama fans truly have no room to complain, and will get zero empathy from any other fans across the country.

Telefawx,
Luck, mojo, destiny etc, whatever you wish to call it has a tremendous influence on winning Nattys.
As a Bama fan, I've enjoyed more than my fair share.
If I live long enough, the mojo will return. Until then, I'll keep on yelling Roll Damm Tide, cook awesome briskets , drink way too much on Gameday, and never forget the feeling of being in Sun Life Stadium several years ago, and seeing Eddie Lacy destroy ND. That was priceless.

I've been saying that all year. Should be called University of Nick Saban bc that's who those kids are going to play for. Those louisiana kids could give two poops about player for the university. No disrespect to U of A.

The players who built this program are long gone. Guys like Ingram, Julio, Barrett Jones, etc. Those players came to Alabama to build something. They bonded as a team in order to collectively accomplish something great. They knew nothing would be given to them.
The players we have now felt assured that if they simply came to Alabama they would leave with a couple national title rings and be drafted after their junior year.
I truly feel that the vast majority of our players really don't give two shits about the University of Alabama. It's a mere stepping stone in their path to guaranteed greatness. For example, Derrick Henry is taking selfies and posting videos during Saban's pregame Ole Miss speech. I mean WTF?
We can win 10 games from pure talent, but the days of SEC and national titles appear to be winding down. We have lost our last 3 games v. ranked teams. tDecline is real and it has begun.
Smart gump is smart
