Congratulations to Bama for their great accomplishments. It really is pretty amazing what Saban & Co. have done there over the past decade. Good for them.

And, for Alabama fans who watched the whole thing, happiness in life is good, so I'm glad you found joy there. Good for you.

To be honest, as an LSU fan, I used to care a lot more about what Alabama was doing when LSU was competitive with them. Now that Alabama beats LSU every year and it isn't that competitive and since LSU fell back a few notches, I don't pay much attention to Alabama at all. They are impressive, but I really don't care. I don't feel appreciation or awe or anything, really. They are just a college football team that wins a lot.

Sure, they'll beat LSU again, but the fun thing about actually being a fan of a TEAM and not just a fan of WINNING is that you get to enjoy life and root for your team whether they win or lose. Yes, you'd like to see your team win every game, but it's kind of a good feeling to know that I'm just as much a fan of LSU if the win or lose. I enjoyed the Auburn comeback and Ole Miss beatdown. It was fun.

All that said, congrats Alabama on all your winning. I wish it was us. I'd love to experience that. But, I can't hardly tell you a player on Alabama's team now. Back in 2009-2012, I could list the whole roster and the backups. Now, its just a bunch of college kids.

Admittedly, that has more to do with LSU being an 8-4 type program now than it does with any deficiency from Alabama. But, it is what it is.

So, congrats.

A very well thought out and written post.
I'd guess that your getting older and more mature, also has a little to do with your waning interest in sports in general....it has with me.

How many more titles do they need before you get out of your double wide? You've gotta be getting close...

You pussies should have never gotten saban. You’d be in probation and an average sec team without him

There hasn't been a school that has had a winning percentage above 90% over a ten year span since Bud Wilkinson's OU Sooners from 1949-1958. Well, technically Boise State did from 2002-2011 but the gulf in competition Boise State faced compared to Bama is cavernous. If Bama goes 14-1 this year, their overall winning percentage would be at exactly 90%.

If the chasm in competition between Boise State and Bama is a gulf, then it is an ocean between Oklahoma and Bama. Oklahoma played but 47 teams with a winning record in their 106 games between '49 and '58, for a 44.3% Bama has played 86 in their 133 for a 64.7%.

Furthermore Bama has lost but two of the 13 games to teams that won less than 10 games. SC (9-4) in 2010 and Ole Miss (9-4) in 2014. Oklahoma OTOH, lost to but one team that even won 10 or more games. Coach Bryant's 1950 Kentucky team that was 11-1.

LSU has hit rock bottom.

Sounds like a fit for Butch Jones.

LSU is 6-2 and ranked. Not exactly rock bottom. Should be 7-1 if not for a colossal meltdown at home to a bad Troy team. No excuses. Troy kicked LSU's tail and was winning 24-7 with 8 minutes to go. But, still. That never should have happened. LSU bounced back.

We'll be 6-3 after the Alabama game, but will have a chance to finish with 9 wins and then a decent bowl game. Maybe go 10-3? That isn't rock bottom. It's possible.

LSU was dominant a few years ago. We aren't now. That's life.

What's the Tide's conference record during that timespan?

Nick Saban has simply sapped all of the fun out of SEC football.

If saban started in ‘07, wouldn’t ‘07 be included in the run dickweed?

I used to feel the same way about Lance Armstrong winning unprecedented numbers of Tours de France.

You know what I'm saying.

Alabama is great but there success has been bad for the league. It was much better when LSU, Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Tennessee and Florida were swapping places at the top of the pile. This present crap is only enjoyable for Bama fans.

07 had a ton of drug dealers and all around thugs. Not his players. But he cleaned out the trash and told the leftovers to buy into his program and he would make them champions.
