Yet, LSU and Florida continue to be the only two entirely privately funded football programs and never take a dime from the state.
UT is the only SEC school that pays taxes on it's ticket sales for football and basketball. 5% entertainment tax and the 9.25% sales tax.

'Bama's AD doesn't take ANY money from the school. No money from the University goes into the AD. If I'm not mistaking.

The problem ain't the debt. The problem is the reserves. UT has mortgaged a $200,000 house with a $1,700 payment and they have $1,300 in the bank.
Im sure they will work through it just fine, but the numbers look rough from a business perspective.
Worked out fine for all the sub-primers.

Not a business major I take it.

Only if the AD has a printing press, pulls an Obama, and starts cranking it 24/7.

I am pretty sure they did in 2011, but like I said its all in the accounting. They take money but as payment for something, I forget how it's done. But lsu was one of the only schools in the sec who didn't, but their accounting methods for the same original sources of revenue are different

I bet neither are shelling out debt payments of $21mil/year. That's insane and is why they're having money issues. I wonder what the interest rate is and why they're locked into it.

It's all much ado about nothing. If UT doesn't have the third largest endowment in the league (behind aTm and Vandy), we're damn close. A billion dollars is a lot of money.
And anyway

you're forgetting that LSU and Bama operate at a high profit. Tennersee does not.

So you're saying Tennessee is gonna win the National Championship next?

well this thread kinda backfired a wee bit.

They have a lot of mothers that need homes to house sit for, chargers to buy, Japanese steakhouse food bill's, and new suits to pay for. 3/4

This is what happens when you pay every player to go toyour school.

I think if your school isn't constantly reinvesting in itself than its falling behind. Money is so cheap right now I'm sure everyone is expanding, renovating, acquiring etc.
By the time ticket order forms go out UT's reserves will be back in the 8 figures. Plus the SECdividends pay out in the coaches meeting in Destin I believe
