Sorry, your school did not make the grade but don't give up. There is always a chance during the next expansion.

So there is NO way to know this .. is complete garbage.. just the state of Georgia alone is 11M people, and they think only 25% of the state and No one anywhere else is a fan of the Dawgs.. ok!!! If you say so.

I'm surprised by all the love for Alabama on here. The fans of the other schools that Alabama beats up on seem to take it personally as if I'm knocking their own team. Maybe they suffer from Stockholm Syndrome.

I don't completely buy into this list and I agree about Georgia, and on down the list it has UCLA above USC, but there is little doubt Ohio State and Alabama are #1 and #2 among CFB teams.

You realize that Notre Dame has over 300 Alumni clubs worldwide , Ohio State has 200.

Ohio State IS not the most popular team and neither is Alabama..

Notre Dame is the ONLY Worldwide Brand in college football. PERIOD! Everyone else may have some Alumni oversees or whatever and at times depending on if they are winning some schools ( Bama ) may have a lot more band wagon fans that others nationally.

But in your heart of hearts you know it’s true only 1 has literally Millions of fans internationally, only 1 can have a Major network give them their own game of the week , only 1 has their AD invited to sit with all the other Conf commissioners and make decisions. Their school gets a vote , while the rest of us , our conference gets 1.

It ain’t hard to figure out!

Ohio State is in one of the more populated states and has no other decent P5 teams.

Alabama is in a state that’s about middle of the pack in population and shares the state with a strong P5 program.

Your popularity isn’t terribly surprising.

Too bad the most popular team can’t win a big football game…

Not my fault no one wants to live there.

It is amazing the love the people of Ohio and beyond have for the Buckeyes. Even with all the pro teams, the Bucks are still the most loved by the people.

Alabama only has the Crimson Tide and nothing else.

If you are a champion, and a dominating champion, the rest of the world wants to see you knocked off.

Ohio State remains just a great white hope.

You owe your pro team's success to SEC (specifically LSU) and without their contribution the Bengals and Browns would still be the shite-tier of the NFL.

So you should probably start every post with, "Thank you Chicken. May I post please?"

UCLA #10? Over USC? Proof this report is bogus. Totally unscientific.

No question, Notre Dame has the largest national following in college football.

I completely disagree with the methodology. I'm sorry, but schools like Michigan and Notre Dame - schools with large alumni bases and deep pockets - have a bigger fan following than Alabama. I'm pretty sure schools like Texas and (perhaps) Texas A&M have larger fan bases as well. There is no way that Georgia, Miami, or Florida have smaller fan bases either considering the population of those states and the national brand that they all command.

How in the world did they get these numbers?

Nobody asked me.

Exactly. They didn't ask anyone in the numerous Alabama trailer parks.
