The three best Coaching jobs in the last 30 years Saban from 2007-Present at Bama, Lou Holtz at ND from 1988-1993 and Bob Stoops at OU from 1998-2003. These three took three of most storied in College Football from Irrelevance to champs by year 3.

He is definitely is not overrated. Great recruiter, great game planner, great at making in game adjustments.

I don't know if overrated is the right way to describe it. It's clear to almost anyone that he is the best coach in football. The error I think some people make is when quantifying the gap in coaching talent between him and the other great coaches in the game right now. Some people seem to believe that Saban is a 10, and every other coach is a 7 or less. I'd disagree with that. But this article's reasoning is pure crap. Saban I think is the best program builder, who when fortunate enough to have everything line up for his teams, takes advantage of his opportunities like no other.

Benefitted from or been partly responsible for? Do you really think it's 100% coincidence that Alabama's two biggest rivals have been more or less mediocre since 2008 (Cam Newton excluded)?

I think the recent AJC articles on Saban are just useless opinion pieces written to create controversy. I was at Alabama when Coach Bryant was still there and he certainly had his detractors, too. Who cares what some writer thinks?

Saban is overrated because he lost four games and had a losing record in the NFL? I guess Lou Holtz, Steve Spurrier, John McKay and Bud Wilkinson were overrated college coaches as well.

Yet another reason why the AJC is (and has been) garbage.

What about SOS at Duke and UF? What the heck has Duke achieved since then? Look at the team picture vs, UNC....

What was UF before SOS? Look it up, or ask Bama fans.

What was USCe before SOS? Look it up.....

The "BIG" schools aren't so big anymore. ND has been what? Who took over? Who gets the publicity?

Saban is carrying SOS's jock strap....and SOS is carrying the Bears jock strap...let's be honest.

This shite is retarded. Saban could possibly get his 3rd national title in 4 years in the toughest division in football. Pretty sure this is the complete opposite of overrated.
